I thought /stopcasting then /casting would work on these but it is not. I am trying to make a shield and heals macro and need to know what I am doing wrong.

This is what I have thus far:

/stopcasting
/cast Power Word:Shield

/stopcasting
/cast Lesser Heal

When I am trying to cast shield the spell stops but need to be hit a second time to activate the shield. So..what am I doing wrong?

When I am trying to heal it just doesnt work

Both say "spell not ready" when i hit the macro button as well

You need to put a spell rank in there as well.

/stopcasting
/cast Lesser Heal(Rank1)

etc.

also, blizz changed so that you can't cast more than 1 spell in a key press. So you would have to click the macro twice to get the shield and the heal.

You could in that case use /castsequence

Might be an issue with global cooldown, but I've not checked this on my priest, so sorry if I'm wrong.

If the spell you are interupting starts the global cooldown then you won't be able to use your shield or heal until the global cooldown from the original spell cast finishes.

I think some abilities (e.g. mages counterspell) are seperate from the global cooldown, so it is possible to have a macro like that to use them.

But I may be talking crap, I'll check my mage and priest later to see if I can come up with a more informed argument.

Yea, it's the GCD. You'll have two tap it twice to get it to go off during the first 1.5sec of the previous spell - once to cancel the GCD, once to get the spell off.
