Worried about switching from Sub to combat...Follow

First off, i know 1v1 is NOT where pvp is balanced, but its small arena situations & lucky small fights in BG's that i'm dicussing.

I know 16/3/42 has got its ups and downs (just like every other build) but in one on one type situations, with a mix of pvp gear & t4, i have about 1760 AP (1800 with a different throwing weap).

Its fun being able to kill pretty much anyone whose dumb enough to wander off by themselves. I've found that regardless of spec/gear the opponent has I don't really run into problems unless all my Cd's are well, down.

and Cheat death is rediculous. I've lived WAY longer than anyone should have while attacking, i'm talking 4+ horde attacking me at once and i STILL kill a healer.

I know with full pvp gear my AP is going to drop, while i'll gain HP/resilience, but as deep sub rogue in a Mage/mage/rogue (or mage/Mswar/rogue when we wanna change it up) 3v3, I'm worried that the loss in AP will hurt more than help us.

Should i keep a piece or two of T4 for the AP, or should i re-spec combat maces when i get more vengeful? Any opinions welcome.

As has been said before, arena is about control.

The mace stun procs give you an even larger amout of control over your opponent and will help you lock down a healer while your teammates burn down one or both of the DPS.

I have personally never specced deep sub, but I have heard, and can imagine, that it is a very fun spec.

To be honest, with a 3v3 burn team you probably won't ever get to the really high rankings, so if you enjoy deep sub, stay specced as it.

The problem is other classes will also get resilience/hp and living longer through cheat death or using shadowstep won't really help you get through that like adrenaline rush/ mace spec, etc. will (arena-wise). However if you don't really care about high ratings and you're more of a casual player, then just choose w/e is fun. And go with vengeful gear, will help more with pvp. Just my 2 cents.

Play your rogue to have fun, not to win. When you try to be competitive you realize we're an inferior class. If you start playing "hard core", you'll do "better" as combat but it won't be anywhere near as fun.

I don't have anywhere near Shao's experience, but I dont fully agree that rogues are gimped. In the BG's, where you can carefully choose your target, rogue's are godly. In world pvp, where you can choose your target, rogues are godly.

In the arena, where you can't choose your target, rogues are competitive until forced to fight a warrior.

and warriors happen to be everywhere.

meh. Shadowstep is fun.
