LF a new 2H weaponFollow

#1 Jan 25 2008 at 12:17 PM Rating: Default
I've been working on my DPS gear lately and it's going well. I realized I don't have a nice 2H weapon to use. I like swords, not sure why but I just do.

I don't' PvP so that 2H sword is out, at least for right now. I was looking at the 2H sword form Botanica or the Khorium Champ.

So who better to ask then other Warriors? What would you recommend? We left off on Opera last night in Kara and have "Romeo & Juliet". So unless the 2H drops there I'll be needing something soon.

Thanks for your input.

Well your guild runs Kara. R&J drop [wowitem=28573]Despair[/wowitem]. Nice 2h sword.. I'd use it.

Gruul 25 man run drops a awesome 2h axe [wowitem=28794]Axe of the Gronn Lords[/wowitem] that I actually passed on for a new Warrior. Looking back I should have taken it and ran.

*edit* I ran a 2H sword search on alla Alla search

If your guild is in Kara, try to get Gorehowl from Prince Malchezaar. I got it a while ago (back when I was 2h specced) and slapped a Savagery on it. Used to love it, now I just use it for pvp (DW Fury in raids now, with Spiteblade/Fury with mongoose and executioner).

It doesn't cost much to start a (2v2) team, and even if you /afk EVERY game you can get a s2 weapon once you have enough points...

Because doing this is a f'ing joke. I'm gonna lol hard if a few months from now Blizz enforces retro-active ownage on all the people who afk'ed and /danced their way through arenas to get items, similar to how they did with battlegrounds.

TBH I'm kind of sick of people claiming they "don't" pvp, because really, it makes 0 sense not to with what blizzard did with arenas and how much more efficient it is to get gear from there rather than raid for it... both from a drop% standpoint, and the time you put in standpoint.

I'm kind of sick of people claiming that all gear must be obtained in the theoretical most efficient way possible, even if they find that way "cheating", "unfair", or simply not fun.

do you honestly have no grasp of anything that happens in this game?

or are you just too much of an idiot to have any clue what happens in arenas and think that bg's are real PVP since tbc came out?

imo, it is the idiots who waste time in arena rather than trying to advance in the game. spend one hour and get something without trying or actually contribute to others who don't have the time to work on a personal rating and raid due to schedule. especially since season 3 is most likely going to be the last arena season, while next patch sunwell is going to effectivly do far more than the arena gear that for some reason everyone swears by for pve.

because

1) you always get the drops you want right?
2) everyone is clearing illidan all around the world
and 3) it's kind of obvious that pve gear is going to be better for pve once you're at the top areas, but if you're in kara and gruuls, grabbing a s2 weapon isn't hard and should easily last you until mid-late ssc at the least.

Let me say this another way. I have 3 70's and I don't PvP with my warrior. I DO PvP but it's usually with my hunter when I have the time. Most of my time is spent tanking Heroics or Kara to help gear up our guild.

The other night we didn't see Dispair drop from Opera but I did get a nice Tank helm from the event. TBH that was the first time I've seen Romeo and Juliet while in Kara. We've seen nothing but BBW & Oz. Price this week dropped the hunter bow and I think a healer item. Group 1's MT got Gorehound a few weeks ago and has said he likes it. I was looking for more of an easy-to-get 2H weapon to use while I wait on these others to drop.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.

Russ you're way out on this one. It's a game, people are entitled to do what ever they want to do, without some ******** trying to tell them what they have to do. If someone doesn't PvP, just let it go. It might be because they're bad at it and don't have the time to improve, or they might just not like that aspect of the game. Either way it's their account that they're paying money for, thus they should be able to decide how they spend the time they're paying for.

I have no idea why you woke up with a crayfish pinching your balls this morning, but do yourself a favor and quit while you're behind. They're a reason your posts are getting Sub-D here: You're full of ****. Take a hint, don't write the ****... just think about it for yourself.

Personally, I have no interest in PvP...and not because I suck at it, or don't want to take time to improve...but simply because it's not the type of game I enjoy. I'm not someone who needs to wave around their epeen by beating up other players, nor do I like the idea of fighting a 12 year old in an arena when I could spend the same time working with 9 or 24 other people on conquering new content. There's only so many times you can beat each class in the game in a PvP setting before it's just repetitive and boring. There's only 4 bg's, they get boring very quickly for me as it always seems to be one or two strategies in each one.

Beating people isn't when I most enjoy WoW...it's beating new raid bosses, advancing the lore/plot, etc. To each their own. I agree with Utarius here that you probably deserved whatever sub-d ratings people gave you for your rants above. I may not enjoy PvP, but I don't go through the forum trashing on people who do.

- True - BGs can become boring. I remember I fall asleep in AV once.
- Raids - oh those can be boring as well. My friend quited WoW because he was bored to death with raiding same instances every day and trying same boss xx times a day with some ****** always wiping raid. Raiding MC just killed all the fun for him.
- Arenas - still exciting but I see how those can become boring as well. And 8 min quees are just essence of boredom
- Quests - Boring as well if you do quests all the time - find xx of yy and kill ZZ to get quest to find xxx of vvv and kill UU. And finding party for 3-5 men quest is a pain.
- Farming - perhaps most boring of all of those....

What is my point?
Doing a bit of everything is what makes that game fun. If you stick to just one aspect of it - you are bond to get bored sooner or later.

As it comes to OP question.
Arena weapons are better then all the rest unless you are in top raiding guild - it is simply truth.
If you want to avoid Arena (wich is quite refreshing after raids tbh) you are left wuith raid drops or craftables - GL with Gorehowl or Despair. Nice weapons. I had Khorium Champion and Despair myself. I switched it with Merciless Greatsword - the change was like switching from driving Fiat Punto with Porche. S3 weapons are even better...
But I guess everyone can do what he wants - he pays for it ^^.
