I re-specced lastnight. There are a number of reasons, and I've been considering it for a while.

Besides, I went to Outlands for the first time lastnight, and was having a hard time in Hellfire Peninsula with everything resisting my fire, so that was the last straw!

I've gone for 0/0/51 (0/0/49 atm) as I read that this was probably the best spec for PVE and questing.

Picked up a couple of nice new pieces from Outlands :)

It is like having a new character though, so any help in casting sequences and gear changes would be appreciated.

Yes! Come to the dark side!

hahah, you will love or hate frost... up to you.

Gear wise, take what you can get. On dif in fire and frost is that frost would lean a little more to +spell dmg and less to +crit (thanks to shatter). That being said plus crit is still great and you will really just be picking up whatever comes you're way while questing in OL.

Tips.... respect ranged capible mobs. You can kill them but if you loose focus they drop you fast.
disrespec any melee mob that you can snare. kite like a **** if needed.

when grinding the only dmg spell I used was frostbolt/icelance. Everything else lacks the mana per dmg

frostbolt
forstbolt
frostnova
frostbolt + icelace (for shatter double crit)

remember that you pet is your pet friend and will SAVE YOUR LIFE. extra fn means that you can gain time to escape or simple and extra fb+icelance for massise dmg.
when things look a little scary, try droping your pet and iceblocking, let him fight for you.
oh and finally... you can now run away from anything (short of a horde hunter) may noe seem like but if pay attention it will save you repair bills and downtime by simply rank1 frostbolt, or CoC / Fn and running like the glass cannon you are

casting sequence:

frostbolt, frostbolt, frostbolt, frostbolt, frostbolt, frostbolt

if a frostbite procs, you do frostbolt + icelance (as soon as frostbolt leaves your hands)

if a mob gets close frost nova -> frostbolt + icelance

before you hit 66 you will not have icelance so maybe using fireblast should work fine until then.

Don't forget to activate icy veins as often as possible. I've found it very helpful when griding and taking on mutliple mobs on elemental plain.

Also, don't forget your pet has ranged frost nova. This is really cool in av when you are on defense. You bring in the elemental cast ranged frost nova on the horde or alliance attacking your gy or going across the bridge then blizzard them.

I tend to keep Ice Barrier up wherver I am. It has become a habit. It will save you when rouges pop up and attack you.

I now also tend to do frostbolt icelance icelance when frot nova procs. It doens't happen all the time but i've gotten 3 crits from that. I don't think it should happen but it does.

Shatter combo tutorial youtube
Its about the end bit with the water elemental, which is very very handy in PvP since people dont have time to trinket out of nova robbing you of a shatter.
Takes some pratice though.

Also the elementals bolts can use shatter.
