Mace spec for PvE good buildFollow

#1 Jan 24 2008 at 5:26 PM Rating: Decent
Well i would say from exp.
My dps in Kara is very high with combat maces
yeahyeah swords have extra chance to hit yeah its very nice but with maces 5%more crit dmg is even better just bcuz mobs in instances dont have very much resilince so u will crit most of the time.Yeah the mace stun suck for some tanks but my guild loves me for it mace stun=less mana healers gotta use and 2secs tank doesnt get hit but my tanks always have 2 mobs on them bcuz of that just to get rage

All im saying is maces are the way to go just bcuz u can PvP with them and PvE with them

And swords is nice but if you are planning to PvE hope u got alot of crit to help u out plus sustained dmg wiht swrods yeah u will own then

Here is my armory http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Runetotem&n=Veira

RIght now im PvP spec bcuz im doing arena for my s2 swords just to see how much my dps will be in kara then

And im always 2nd in dps meter 1st comes another rogue specc hemo and fist he only beats me bcuz he has way more atack power

And that mace stun is even better for lvling up u dont have to heal as much

Maces do run a not-so-close second (or maybe 3rd behind fists) to combat swords.

However, parsers and damage meters and just plain testing on unkillable mobs shows that combat swords is still the king of PVE DPS.

You are saying you're gonna get the S2 to swords to test them out.

I hope you have the S2 maces right now or it's already not a fair comparison.

You can PVP with swords, you just have to have more skill to get to the same rating as with maces.

My personal reason for choosing the swords over the maces is that the maces are butt ugly.

Although I do enjoy PVE much much more than PVP.

BTW, your crit% is the exact same with swords as it is with maces.

Any rogue who's clearing Kara should easily be at 25-30% to crit unbuffed, which is more than enough for that stage in raiding.

That's pretty much all I have to say.

Until the parsers and damage meters show me otherwise, combat swords is king of PVE DPS.

Your guild says "yes, yes", but your arena says "no, no"..

But how big is the difference?

I'm at 64 currently, combat swords. I have enough honor and EoTS marks to get either both S1 swords or maces. I want to go maces but I'm afraid that I'll be last choice for raids. How much diff in dmg is there? Are there a lot of mace spec rogues raiding?

For PvE:

1. Swords
2. Fists
3. Maces

The difference in actual DPS is pretty marginal in 5-mans and 10-mans. Once you get into 25-mans with proper melee groups (i.e. Windfury, Leader of the Pack, multiple Blessings, etc), Swords starts to pull away from the pack.

Don't bother, it should work out to be about 5% of your sword's damage difference.
