3v3 Help! Beating Rogue / Lock / Healer with RMPFollow

#1 Jan 24 2008 at 10:40 AM Rating: Decent
Our 3v3 team, Rogue / Mage / Priest, finally passed 1800 last night but ran into a string of Rogue / Lock / DiscPriest or Druid teams that knoced us back down and finally quit after dropping to 1777. We seem to have little to no problem with most teams but the Rogue / Lock / Healer setups were very bad. What seemed to make them bad is that their Rogue was focusing me instead of our Mage or Priest and it was working because I was unable to stay on their Warlock. We tried focusing their Rogue and even the Priest once and nothing just seemed to work. It looks like that setup may be a counter to ours but there has to be a way to beat it because there are many high rated RMP teams.

Some have suggested that we kill the Lock's pet, but that just seems futile. Another has suggested to focus their Priest, which seems like the better of the recommendations. Any suggestions from similar or better rated RMP team members would be great!

Our team makeup (all over 400 resilience)
Frost Mage
DiscPriest
Rogue (17-0-44)

I'm comming to this from a mage PoV seeing as I'm just now lvling a rogue.

Seems to me that the mage isn't doing a good enough job. Locks, even with puppies out, don't make it that hard to get a few casts off. As a mage in your group I would focus on CCing the priest with sheep and CS untill you can kill the lock. I'd also bring my pet out and sick him on the lock as soon as battle started. This will either distract him some or make him waste time banishing it. With the puppie on the mage that should leave you on the lock with the rogue on you. A few frost novas and CoCs on the rogue, as well as a 8 sec silence on the priest should give you ample time to take out the lock.

CC the lock, i would presume.
Sap, blind, poly, scream, poly, scream, (you stealth) sap, etc.
Time it too so that your CC doesnt have diminishing returns.
in that ammount of time you should be able to mana burn the priest fairly well and drain out at least some of the rogues HP.

The sooner the lock and it's pet dies, the sooner you can have your mage back.
