I'm finding more and more occasions where I would like some other gear for solo questing or farming. In particular to combat caster mobs that can fear and/or heal.
My question is, are there any sets, drops/quested items, etc that any of you have found especially useful for these types of situations?

Solution is either
a) Bring a ret set (what I do)... and not just a ret weapon, I mean the whole set, pants, helm, bracers, etc... You won't do as much damage as a ret, but you'll get relatively close.
b) don't fight caster mobs.

Thanks, that confirms my suspicion that it's gonna take more than just a good 2H to get the job done. Ideally yes, I prefer not to fight casters, but in some cases it's either unavoidable or even neccessary.
I was able to find a few cheap pieces on the AH to get started, and it definitely made shorter work of some of the casters I was targeting at the moment. I'll have to keep an eye out for more to add to a set.

Even when your weapon is epic, without a set of gear to back it up, it's sub-par at best.
yep just the weapon dont cut it even like 3 ret pieces dont help too much. at least for me.
