I did some searching...but couldn't find the answer I was looking for.
What's the maximum amount of spell damage you can have before you reach the cap?

as far as I know there isn't one or no noe has reached it beyond private servers.
There is no cap beyond the limit gear and buffs provides. I've seen spriests with around 2300 shadow damage fully buffed with procs and trinkets, and they were still missing a few really obscure things iirc (like Imrpoved Divide Spirit + Jaina's spirit buff).
Never heard of a damage cap on anything but AoEs.
