What is the best spec for grinding, fire or ice? and when should i start placing talent points into arcane?
You'll probably get a lot of BS responses to this cause you could look around and figure it out, but here it goes:
1. Both Frost and Fire are very viable. Arcane can work, but is not as realistic a leveling choice for the 1 - 70 grind.
2. Fire is a "Fast Kill" tree. Your goal is to nuke it so quickly and so hard - that it only gets 1-2 hits on you. (For the most part)
3. Frost is a "Slow the mob, control the mob" tree. It has greater survivability, but less straight-up power.
I have been fire from day 1. Basically - I saw that fire did more damage and stuck with it. Looking back I realize that I never gave Ice a chance because I didn't give the spec a chance to show it's control and slowing (plus mana saving) attributes. You will here people say one or the other is better - they are both good. I plan on respecing frost soon. I really want to give it a try and learn how to play it.

When I was leveling, I didn't put points into arcane until about level 60 or something like that. I kept filling the frost tree up until level 50 when I got my water elemental. Then I went back through the tree and picked up a couple of the other talents. I am now full frost with 2 points in arcane and I love it. I will probably respec to fire once we get into tier 5 stuff, but for kara and gruul's, I like being frost. I can put out a ton of dps and I have alot of survivability.
I like fire too, but frost imo is way funner. Try both trees out and see what you like. Respecs are pretty cheap at first. I am up to 50g a respec. Try out some different builds and see what you like.

thank you both for your responses, i did research and found varying answers on both fire and frost in soloing. I will probably go Frost just because i think it will be better at handling adds and such. thanks
