Demonic Tactics not needed for Felguard build?Follow

#1 Jan 23 2008 at 10:54 AM Rating: Decent
Hi all, I recently switched over from Afflict to give Demo a try and I'm liking it so far. My current Talent build can be seen in armory, I'm actually thinking of switching over to this though http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents.html?0502210500100000000000052030133052103531301000000000000000000000 so that I can add in Nightfall. Of course this means dropping Demonic Tactics, which I always thought was a must have skill but I've seen a lot of ppl not using it. Was I just overrating DT before, or is it really a Talent I should include? Thanks in advance.

3/3 Mana Feed is usually considered overkill, some like 2/3, when I was Demo I did fine with 1/3.

Imp Enslave Demon is trash, I'd take Master Summoner instead.

If I were to go back to a Felguard build, it would probably look something like this:

I've only ever used shadow burn for an elemental or two at vashj. So I stuck that point into improved life tap instead for a 7/44/10

You're gonna want at least 43 points in Demonology, to get the most out of your minions.
Improved Enslave Demon is a total waste. That spell is basically crowd control, so there is no point in trying to replace a minion with an enslaved one-- it does not last long enough for that. If you can make it work, then fine, but I find it hard to get an enslaved minion that gives me as much +damage as the ones in my ********
Mana Feed is definitely a personal choice. I have never needed it, and do not see any foreseeable use. If you disable Cleave while soloing, and disable Taunt while doing PVP, you should not have a problem with mana.
I had no problem with Fel Intellect for a while, but I noticed that dropping it made no real difference in my playing. So, that could go.
You should have about three additional points left, if you made some modifications as I suggested. That allows you to master Nightfall. If I may, 4% chance to kick in is really low, and not as practical as Empowered Corruption. I would want to maximize the damage I deal, and Corruption is something I use all the time anyhow.
This is my build, if you're curious. I am typically at the top of the DPS meter because of it; Here.

4% chance to kick in may seem low, but that's a 4% chance on each tick of Corr and each tick of Drain Life. Now from a raiding sense, yeah, don't DL very often, but Corr is always up, and 4% chance on each tick is more than enough.

Even in soloing, w/o using DL, I can get a Nightfall proc usually about every fight, sometimes twick per fight. The 4% is very deceiving and it procs way more often than you would think.

I always thought the Nightfall 4% meant that it had a 4% chance each spell cast, not each tick, has this been changed or was I told wrong the first time?

It has a 4% chance to proc each tic, which adds up very fast.
