New Druid?Follow

Hi everyone!
So I want to start a NE Druid, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to stick with it. I had tried it before but all of the quests in Tel and Darn just seem boring to me (could be because that whole well quest is so long).

Is there any suggestions on what I could do to keep my interest in the druid?

Get to 20. Get cat form. The get to 36. Get a stun opener. You'll never look back.

And maybe quest somewhere other than Teldrassil. Though you'll have to run back to train. Sounds like that's the only solution.

I second the quest someplace else suggestion. It sounds like your problem isn't with the druid class so much as the NE starting areas. There's no reason for you to stay there. I always do the Wetlands Walk somewhere between levels 6 and 10 with night elf and draenai characters. Sure, Horde are all a bunch of cheatie-pants with their easy blimp transport to each others' starting areas, but we're tougher than that, we can take a few croc deaths. ;)

Either way, druid is kind of slow into the 30's.

You won't either. There're druid trainers in Stormwind and Moonglade. You'll have to go back to Darnassus to get your class quests for bear and aquatic forms and remove poison (I think you need to go to Darnassus for all 3 but can't recall exactly). You'll get Teleport:Moonglade at level 10 which makes this a snap.

Yeah I was thinking that may be what I'd have to do.

I do like the draenei starting zone as of late, so maybe I'll go there. I do know that some of the quests I can't do though, but that's no big deal.

Thanks for the responses!

yeah, teldrassil is boring ****. but once you get out of there, you're dropped in a pretty cool area with access to at least two big cities (i think). i just thought the landscape in teldrassil got old after a while. the quests are all the same, like "fetch this" and "kill this many things". but def stick with your druid. it all pays off with shapeshifting, and with all the different forms, you may as well be every class with just one character.

I'll probably hop on the boat to Exodar, do the quests there and then to Menethil afterwards and try to do the travel to IF

My advice, make a Tauren druid. Huge change of pace and Taurens are way cooler than Night Elves, imo.

I did try out the Tauren Druid as well and it's about the same for me. The starting areas for both faction's druids just doesn't "excite" me (for lack of better words) lol

Welcome to the family, Noc. Do stay a while.

I've had altism for quite some time and the first 10-20 levels of any class is autopilot on my behalf now. One of my motivations for keeping on the boring grind is the thought of all the nice stuff I'll get in x levels.

Looking forward to Bear form was a huge motivator on my first ever Druid (beta). Once I hit level 10 and got the Bear form I was looking forward to the Aquatic form. Being able to explore the waters without having to worry about breath and stuff really made me feel like a shapeshifter. I felt sort of complete with nature. Had the same feeling at level 68 when I got the Flight form.

This game is all about finding something to look forward to.

Yeah that's what I did with my rogue. I'd set my goal as ever 5 levels. So when I was at 35, I thought of getting to 40.

Looking back, the levels flew by... and now here I am, one level from 70. It's crazy.

I think that's what I may have to do though. Nice suggestion. Thanks. Bear form here I come! lol

Well as has been mentioned here, regardless of whether you go NE or Tauren, I'd advise do at least the first five levels in the normal start zone then go to either Azuremyst or Eversong Woods respectively. They both have druid trainers also so no worries about having to go all the way back to Teldrassil or Mulgore to train (except for certain class quests).

The new zones are so much more convenient and well-planned for getting to 20 (more so the BE zone, the Draenei zones seem a bit slapdash at times but they're both definitely a step above the old world 1-20 zones for both druid-accessible races IMO)

I'd hate to see the person that found Mulgore to be "exciting." It's, hands down, the worst starting zone in the game, at least that I've played. Good thing you're out of there in a couple hours.

The Barrens isn't as bad as it's made out to be, but I'd level in the Belf starting zones. So nice.

So I may try levelling an ally and horde druid to about 15-20 before deciding which to stick with. I've started a NE one last night (woo for level 4!) so next is my tauren.

Thanks for all of the advice
