Blues for RELENTLESS Earthstorm Diamond?Follow

I have had a Relentless Earthstorm Diamond made and cut. A number of my gems are red and yellow.

I was wondering which blue (slot) gems would provide the greatest return to a beastmaster hunter (the diamond demands that the wearer has at least two other gems be blue).

At the stage I am at, I am looking at rare (such as Wicked Noble Topaz) - rather than epic - gems.

1) Suggestions?

Is the Relentless Earthstorm Diamond so much better than other meta gems, that it's worth taking two slots with blue compatible gems, rather than (perhaps at the cost of the socket bonus) taking another meta gem and more ideal other gems?

If it were up to me, I would gem up with the other gems that I found most ideal and then find a compatible meta gem. However, it seems that the Earthstorm is good enough to override that.

2) Is it?

EDIT: format and spelling.

The Wicked Noble Topez is nice. Personally I use Infused Nightseye because I need all the MP5 that I can get. Balanced Nightseye is good if you need stamina.

You can go with the +24 AP meta gem if you want, but +12 AGI and +3% crit damage is a little (or a lot) better.

I use purple or green gems to fulfill the blue spots, and I think it's worth it.

"Personally I use Infused Nightseye"

Funnily enough, that's also my blue gem. I had thought to use the similar +AP/+Stam gem but, if it comes to the point where that stam bonus matters, I am usually dead anyway. I like the + mp5, of the Infused Nightseye, too.

I am just wondering if someone can come up with a better blue gem, to satisfy the requirements of the Earthstorm.

Indeed. I suppose the ultimate question is:

Would it "hurt" more to compromise:
1) the meta gem to fit the other gems or
2) the other gems to fit the meta gem?

Infused Nightseye is a great gem, especially for BM Hunters who need the MP/5 to keep their DPS up in the long fights. The Relentless Earthstorm Diamond is totally worth the 2 Blue Gem slots, and Infused Nightseye, is IMHO, the best bet for that unless you wanna just go for pure MP/5 rather than 8AP + 2MP/5.

Stamina is nice, but honestly, the amount of Stam you'd have to have to make you last noticably longer when you were getting hit by a raid mob would take so much away from your DPS that it's worthless. Surviving 2 hits and topping the meters (or just putting out respectable DPS) is better than surviving 3 hits and doing **** for damage.

This approach however is only viable in PvE, PvP-Stamina is arguably the most important raw stat, besides maybe Agility.

I agree about the purple AP/MP5 gems. Unfortunately, there is no purple AGI/MP5 gem, but there is an AGI/STAM gem, if one were to prefer AGI to AP. And also, I got stuck in the stam mindset because a few of my PvE items double as my PvP set, and I chug Fel Mana pots in raids.

As I start regemming my gear, I try to use Shifting Nightseye and Glinting Noble Topaz. It makes it REALLY easy to maintain the requirements.

And yes, the Relentless Earthstorm Diamond is THAT good. If you switch out 2 of your red gems with Shifting Nightseye, you'd lose 8 agi (assuming you have agi gems), but you'd gain 12agi and get a 3% damage boost to your critical hits.

Yes.
You only need 2 nonred gems (2 green ones) to get it, and its really the best option for hunters by far.

Other gems to fit the meta IMO. there are a lot of combinations of gems that will be good in defferent ways, but metas stand out a little more.
