Undergeared??Follow

#1 Jan 23 2008 at 3:16 AM Rating: Decent
Hello Fellow Hunters. I am level 70 and play on a PvP server. Just with that being said, you know my PvE experiences have been...lets say...short. The last instance I did fully was friggin SM Armory and a Ramparts run that went...rampant >_>

However, I hit a road block when I found out that the high level engineering goggles required what is called, a Primal Nether >_> You all know what it is and I wanted to cry when I did. So I tried Shadow Labs...didn't work out too well. Que'ed up for a heroic w/e...after an hour of waiting I found one for the daily quest. Awesome!...nope, after about 15 minutes of waiting for a healer, the lead kicked me, saying heals are more important and that my gear isn't up to snuff >_>

Here is my armory page..

Yeah, pretty bad eh? I know we weren't going into Kara...hell, I'm not even attuned for that but I mean...basic Heroics?? Anyways, I'm going to continue PvPing, I enjoy it and the rewards ain't too shabby.

Thanks for any feedback.

The best thing you want to do is what the above poster has said, and if you are really going to get into pvp, you will need to get out of greens. run some of the normal instances with your aim being getting anything that has agi+, crit+, and AP. Once you have all blues or blues and purples, you will see your dps rise in both pvp and pve.

Bite the bullet and dive into some instances.

There is hardly any basics about Heroics. Trash hits you like a truck just like in Kara. Actually, after only 3 raids I prefer to do Kara behind Curator than H Slab, I find it easier.

Quite doable Heroic instances for me, apart from famous Mech, are Underbog, Ramparts and Slave Pens.
I dont think anyone could persuade me into running H Shattered Halls ever.

What the others said.
Your gear isn't all that bad, but in order to pull your weight in a heroic instance you'll have to lose most of your greens (and the ring with +STR) in favor of better stuff.

You have two options: PvP til you puke, arena gear is generally good enough for heroics, or start doing normal instances for lvl 70 blues.

I understand you don't have too much instance experience, but don't worry. Keep your pet on passive, assist the tank, FD a lot and you'll be OK.
Good luck!

Honestly H Shattered Halls is one of the funnest instances ever, especially when you do it with the timer. You have to be on your game though.

Heroics are more difficult than Kara. Kara is an entry level raid instance where you have 10 people in on it, with 2 tanks (at least) 3-5 DPS and 2-4 healers.

Heroics are all 5 man, one tank, one off-tank, 1-2 healers and 2 DPS (this is basics and one person can count for two things) so there is absolutely zero room for mistakes and the mobs hit just as hard as they do in Kara, and the pulls are much more difficult.

I honeslty feel that Kara is training for some Heroics like SLab, SV and SH... which are WAY harder than Karazhan.

You need to be fully geared from normal instances and quests to be able to pull your weight in Kara or heroics, otherwise you're just dead weight because there are plenty of other people who are already geared like that.

Follow Aethiens Pre-Raid Gear List and you'll be fine and you'll get to know the instances you plan to run on heroic mode.

Ah, then you give me more reason to get my last Kara key piece. I'm enjoying heroic Shadow Labyrinth these days but have not yet set foot in Kara. ;)

A heroic Shattered is the most fun thing you can do when you get a good group. I grouped with a Palatank, and the killorder was "Heal me and kill what you can TAB". We also managed to kill it on the timer, and since it was a daily i got 7 badges :)

Use the non-heroics to upgrade your gear and to get grouping experience. You will be asked to trap if you run heroics so start learning how to keep a mob under CC while in the non-heroics.

Oh, and Primal Nethers can drop in the higher level non-heroics but it's pretty rare. I saw one drop in my first Sethekk Halls run so there is hope for you to get your Primal Nether soon. :)
