As a new mage (you can see by my level) I was wondering in there are guilds out there on my server (Arathor) that take noobs under thier wing to show them the ropes? I intend (and have already started) building him as a fire mage. I want to (at some point) get involved in instances and raids in the end game. I would like some direction and help in how to play my character to meet the needs of the guild both as a beginner and for later on. I do not PvP but would like to get involved in all other parts of the game. I am just not sure if I am playing my mage to the best of his ability.

Odds are you won't find what you're looking for here. This place doesn't see the same traffic as the Oboards does. Consider searching on your Realm forum.

I also would recommend browsing the Official WoW boards (Realm Forums) as most realm forums (EU at least, rarely visit the US etc unfortunately) have a sticky at the top with guild listings that say what type of guilds are on the server, homepages, type of guild etc etc.. and is a good place to start. Guilds will also usually advertise their guilds, recruiting there too and is a great way to find out what type of guilds they seem to be from their recruitment/advertising posts... then you can perhaps contact the leader/officers and chat a bit about finding a Mage mentor?

one other thought - have you tried the Guild Recruitment channel in-game? quick way to find those who may be interested in offering a new, growing mage under their wing?

Good luck and happy adventures ;)
