Nothing, you forgot to read my first line. I purposely left out that Fireball gets about 54.6% bonus damage from talents/debuffs and Sbolt gets about 87.9%, and that Fireball scales at .383+dmg/sec and Sbolt at .423+dmg/sec (and DoTs have even better scaling). My point was, saying that 6% to Sbolts versus 5% from Fireballs isn't a good comparison, because you're ignoring everything else. In the long run, they probably provide relatively equal damage increases because Fireball makes up more damage than Sbolt. Relatively equal, of course, because a destro lock will be doing more damage.

I can't think of any off the top of my head where SS would be possible that Invis wouldn't, unless you're talking about zomgburnfaster fights that are getting cut really close. It might not be able to be used *now* like SS can, but can still be used.

In any case, while soulshatetr has a 1% resist chance (OH NOES) Invisibility is completely unusable in several fights.

I've raided through Vashj and working on Kael and haven't found a fight that it is unusable unless there are a lot of aggro/threat drops (like Leotheras) where it would be useless to use it anyway.

1) Search Elitist Jerks. Corruption is a drop in DPS dor 0/21/40.

2) Relatively? Wow, you managed to prove my point that the bonus exacabates the problem of locks out dpsing mages, thanks.

3)Akil'zon, Teron Gorefiend, Bloodboil.

Of course, these are just the bosses you can NEVER invis on., There are a great deal more (Hydross, Vashj) where you are prevented from invising for large periods of time, and others, like Morogrim and Archimonde, when you have to invis at a very specific time or not at all.

I can't speak to the latter two, but I've used Invis successfully on Akil'zon. Though I do only get 2-3 ticks of it most of the time, which is all I really need at that point.

Hydross, Morogrim, and Vashj are all possible to use Invis. Hydross, I don't see why you couldn't use it, although I almost never have to as we take down/aoe adds first and by that time the tank has enough aggro that I do not need to worry about it. Tidewalker I AoE down adds and don't have a lot of time to do direct damage to him, and becuse of that the tank has a ton more aggro that I can generate -- even so, if you have bigwigs/dbm you know when you can cast it. And for vashj, I don't see how you couldn't there either, as long as you don't get static charge or put into a green blob.

Invisibility is great for questing too, just run past all the guys you don't really want to fight. :)

Hydross = 30 sec duration DoT.

Morogrim = Can't use it within 5 seconds of murlocs, graves or AoE stomp.

Vashj = Static charge.

So that you are forced to use invis to less than full efficen y or risk getting caugh unable to use it and aggro capped. It takes some kind of thought to use, and thus, IMO, should be more powerful than something thta is a mere click of a button away.

(I wasn't really serious about the conspiracy against Mages if anyone is wondering, I just really dislike Warlocks at the moment).

You could probably get a tick or two off at Gorefiend too, if you got lucky.

I do wonder why you can't proceed with your usual casting while you have your fading timer if Invisibility was intended to reduse your threat in combat.
I don't think that fade phase should be broken by your actions , and I'm totally ok with it being broken by damage taken or any other outside effects [just so noone yells it's overpowered in PvP], any thoughts?
