Is there a cap to the crit % you can have? Right now my crit % in forms is just below 35%, I'm getting some new arena gear today which I suspect will put it above 35 or 36%. Is there a cap, or can I keep stacking +crit hit rating to get it as high as I want?

As far as I know there is no "official" cap, but I don't believe one can reach 100%.
But don't take my words as they are. Use this:

I would Doubt if even the end endgame 25 man run armor sets would get you anywhere near 100% crit lol.

I'm really intrested in finding out the max crit % you could get too. With Sharpened claws/LotP/really hot gear, that'd be interesting.

I think I heard something about a Hunter getting like 50%? Please don't quote me.

There is a crit cap. It used to be 40%; however, this may have changed.

Here is a link to the wowwiki page that discusses it.

Nice informative link on the crit cap.
A rogue friend of mine showed me a picture of himself pre-BC
with over 55% tooltip chance to crit, most of it was probably wasted then.

According to the wowwiki page then, assuming you are hit capped
and attacking from behind on a boss, crit cap will be

100% - 5.6% (dodge) - 25% (glancing) = 69.4% crit

which when I think about it can be increased even further with expertise

Capping out expertise (23 expertise, 91 rating) is quite unlikely for a druid
but would raise the crit cap to 75%.

A common weapon Earthwarden gives 6 expertise skill which reduces the mobs chance
to dodge/parry by 1.5%.

100% - 4.1% (dodge) - 25% (glancing) = 70.9% crit
