I ran my first ever heroic yesterday, heroic Mechanar.

The run went fairly smooth other than a glitchy pull right out of the gate and some issues with Sepethrea's elementals encircling our tank a couple times.

However, I found myself in a situation that just confused the heck out of me and I didn't know what to do.

Starting off the fight in stealth against one of the Tempest-forged Patrollers (big mechanical things), what opening move should I use?

We had a warrior tank so I knew I shouldn't be using CS or he would get no early rage, and they are bleed-immune.

So what do I do in this situation? Just open from stealth with an SS?

Thanks. I guess it just caught me off guard since I hadn't played my rogue in a while. Added to that was the pressure of not f*cking up in a PUG in my first ever heroic.

yeah if you decide to do kara too, you will notice you can pretty much stay unstealthed the the entire run since CS sucks if it even works, and most if not all the trash are bleed immune.

I always carry around an extra Dagger for bosses, so I can just Ambush them after the warrior gets some rage + Agro... try this then switch back to your normal weapon? ( Sword/mace w/e )

Other than that just start with SS ;D

Yeah I plan to do Kara once I get a few more upgrades (and my key lawl) so I'll keep that in mind. On trash I'm not so worried about even getting into stealth.

Just on those big guys in heroic Mech I treat em like a boss since thay have so much HP and actually try and get a cycle going (obviously replaceg rupture with Evis).

As far as Kara goes, which bosses are bleed immune?
Obviously Curator, but what about Nightbane and Moroes?

Openers really aren't worth it most of the time as combat swords. The extra time it takes to get into combat means lost damage, so the extra damage from the opener is lost anyway. On most fights, I just charge right up out of stealth and start my rotation with SS immediately. On bosses with touchy aggro, or when you're threat capped, it's different, but with Salvation and a good tank, you should never be threat capped.

Incidently, as a tank I would like to say that even if it means being short on rage, I love having a Rogue keep certain mobs stunned for most of the fight. Those big Mechs in the latter part of Mech can do tremendous damage if their Charged Fists cast goes through uninterupted and I can't always get my interupts in due to cooldowns. If CS works on them and the tank is agreeable, then use it and keep those kicks and stuns up.

Thank you for considering the Warrior's rage generation though. So many people don't understand this. :)

It's called Kick...pretty sure we get that ability pretty early in the game, lol.

She mentioned kicks and stuns.

That was my first time in heroic Mech and I didn't know anything about the charged fist attack or that it was interruptable until our tank mentioned it after we killed the last one.

Oh, and the reason I am conscientious of the tank's rage gen is because I have a 70 warrior who used to go through the same thing. I got tired of tanking PUGs with stupid DPS so I respecced him to the PVP spec and only do that with him now.

Curator (Machine) and Netherspite (Ghost) are immune to bleed.

Ironically enough, most undead do bleed (even skeletons!) unless they arte 'ghostly' undead.

The robots mobs in Karazhan are immune to bleed, but not poison... but Curator is immune to both.

Yay for consistency. :)

I really hate how I always forget Curator's immune to poisons and have to keep stealing the tanks Sharpening stones.

But I'm the one who smelts his adamantite so I guess it's all good.

Yeah, CS is actually still an acceptable opener in Kara since the mobs hit so frickin hard. just wait a few seconds for the thank to get 50 rage or so and it is normally not an issue. That being said, I still personally open with SS in Kara unless told otherwise by the tank.

Also, mobs start to bleed in KZ after Shade of Aran, you will see a few more ghosts then from there on I think everything bleeds. So about 10% of the mobs in KZ bleed.
