I'm currently level 43 and planning on respec'ing from frost to fire. I'm on a PvE server, and at the moment all I am doing is questing alongside my BF, who plays a rogue. I was hoping to put 21 points into arcane so that I could have PoM, but I'm not sure how realistic that is given my current playstyle.

Anyway. I was wondering if someone might help to clue me in on which arcane/fire talents to take, and even more importantly, which order to take them in considering my level. Obviously, I can look at the fire tree and make my own decisions, but when also considering points in arcane I thought I might take the time to get a professional opinion. :-)

I would personally go just farther down the fire or frost line, but if you want PoM for the pseudo-3minute-mage.

is a viable way to get the 21 points.

If I was you, I would fill out the fire tree a bit more then jump over to arcane. You are going to lose alot of good talents if you were to go the way anobix said. Arcane is more of a buffing tree imo.

Being that you will be playing with a rogue, it will be relatively easy to kill mobs. Open up with a pyro, then fireball to death. With a rogue tagging the enemy from behind, chances are the mobs will die before they even get to you. When I was leveling my mage, I always like grouping with a rogue.

Yeah, you're surely right about going farther down the fire tree. PoM just seems fun, but I suppose once the novelty wears I'm stuck with a less efficient build. So be it.

Thanks.
