I have a shadowpriest who is now lvl65 and find that I use VE a lot more and just to make sure here - it does cause aggro doesn't it? Since its me healing the party. Also taking the threat reduction talent in shadow would be worth it if I intend to make better/more use of VE?

It gives aggro like any healing (half your healing in threat, split between all mobs). No talents reduce the threat, however, so if you want to lower that you need things like a Blessing of Salv, Tranquil Air Totem, or the threat-reducing cloak enchant and meta gem.

Like all healing, the aggro it generates is related to *actual* healing, with overhealing not considered. That said, the aggro generation can still be a lot. While the Shadow talent does not reduce the threat caused by the healing, it _does_ reduce the threat generated by the damage, and so if you intend to party/raid with heavy VE usage it behooves you to take the talent.

Eh, so not to make a new thread, another dumb question: with 5 points in Spirit tap should I get or not Spirit Tap each and every time I kill a mob that gives me experience? I thought I should but I noticed the other day, fresh 58 in Hellfire, that I got Spirit Tap every 2, 3, 4 mobs :S

Thanks all. I'll be looking into getting those items. As to the spirit tap, I cant think why it wouldnt proc when you down a mob unless you are grouping with someone and not getting the killing blow in?

No, I was completely alone, I was killing the mobs in the mine under HH, each kill was giving me 1k XP, I had and have 5 points in Spirit Tap ever since I got my first 5 skill points.

Sorry, new to me. I'll have to ask around in guild and see if anyone else has had the same problem. Hopefully someone with more experience than me will come along in the meantime.

Ah, the mobs you were killing gives you the answer. The guys under the mine blow themselves up as often as not, and a mob committing suicide is not a killing blow for the priest.
