I'm shamelessly bumping this because we've had a few questions about it recently, and it's about 6 pages back and i don't feel like linking it every time somebody makes a gear thread.

I was actually going to do that this weekend as well, because I was looking around for it to let my guildies know what instances I could run to get better gear, and eventually did find it pages back.

I am in a pre-Kara situation with my youngest warrior alt, and I am seriosly considering if going for honor PvP gear is not making more sense than hunting instances.
Or maybe do that only after doing a few runs and seeing which pieces refuse to drop.

Anyhow, I am just signalling that the item choice base has grown.

My stats as of now (unbuffed):

HP: 6344
Power: 1437
Hit Rating: 173
Crit Chance: 21.81%

Fel Leather set, Primal Strike set, Vengance Wrap, Kurueni shoulders, welfare pvp rare head piece, two Ced's Carvers.

I have never run a heroic and I am close to the minimum stats. My stam sucks though, and I am mining up the stuff to get Engineering up to wear the goggles.

Stats are fully obtainable with just a little bit of effort.

Another ring option is this ring you can get from 50x Spirit Shards. If you're into farming rep or those instances already it's a nice use of the shards you pick up.

Figured I would mention that the Badge Neck Piece is better than what ya have up there.

http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29381

18 Hit vs 13 Hit
20 AGI vs 19 AGI
18 STA vs 18 STA
42 AP vs 36 AP

Since you have a heroic drop in there you may as well put this one in as well. Especially since its better than anything that will drop in Kara(Read: Worgen Claw Necklace)

I would never spend badges on the neck, cloak, or rings. The neck off Attumen is almost a mirror image of the badge neck, and there are 3 rings from Kara (including the violet signet of the master assassin) that are better than the badge ring. Not to mention Drape of the Dark Reavers is one of the best rogue cloaks in the game.

The other thing is that the other badge pieces are such huge upgrades over anything else pre-Kara, that I would just badges to get one of those.

Nyn'jah's Tabi Boots, Bloodlust Brooch, or any of the other rogue leather badge items would be a much better choice than spending badges on the neck, ring, or cloak.

And yes, I realize this was a pre-Kara list, but I see no reason to spend 25 (?) badges on a neck piece that will give you 5 hit rating and 6 AP when the first boss in Kara drops one that's just as good.

If you run Karazhan for months and don't get the necklace, you WILL spend 25 badges on it - believe me, I know how it feels. See what I am wearing.

But anyhow, my opinion is that badge prizes should not be listed on pre-Kara gear list. Karazhan should be the source of badges and gear to do heroics, not the other way around. It is way easier.

Karazhan is kind of in the middle of heroics, progression-wise.

Certain heroics are much easier than Kara and certain heroics are much harder than Kara.

You should have no problem with a group in level 70 quest/instance blues and maybe crafted epics running Slave Pens, Underbog, Steamvaults, the Mechanar, Botanica, Black Morass, or maybe even Ramparts with the right group comp.

However, heroics like Shattered Halls, Shadow Labyrinth, the Arcatraz, Durnholde, and now Magister's Terrace require much better gear than the others. Groups in mostly epics are practically required for these heroics, not to mention needing almost perfect group comps to pull them off.

It is also of worth to note that Karazhan can basically be broken up into 2 sections. Everything up to Curator is fairly easy mode with the right group, whereas Curator is a gear check. However, if you can down Curator you probably have the gear to clear the rest of the instance. Most of the encounters after Curator are not nearly as gear dependant AND have some kind of gimmick that makes them easy.

Illhoof: 1-2 locks spamming SoC and a /target Demon macro make this fight almost trivial
Aran: 2-3 people who can spell interrupt make Aran a joke.
Netherspite: having people who know how to tank a beam make Netherspite easy
Chess: ZOMG Medivh cheated!!!
Prince: If you have the DPS to down Curator in 2-3 evos you have the DPS to down Prince, it's just about decent infernal placement
Nightbane: 2 priests to Fear Ward your tank make Nightane pretty easy.

We are clearing entire Karazhan in 3.5h, with no wipes. I took half of the group to heroic BM, and we wiped (which is a real pain in BM because you need to start all again).
I know this is kind of extreme example, but it shows the "no problem" part is over-optimistic. To have a "no-problem" run, you should have people at least in pre-Kara gear. And if they have it already, it is much more profitable to just go to Karazhan. Especially now that the badges drop also there.

Since when are level 70 quest/instance blues and crafted epics NOT pre-Kara gear?

Ahh man no fun...I assume you're talking about the worgen claw...I picked up on the first run a few months ago and our tank picked it up for offspec just for fun Tuesday.

Farmed Kara every week for 4 months...didn't see it drop until month 5. 2 weeks after I picked up my badge neck. :P

Granted, I don't think I would have dropped the badges for that and my cloak if I'd known about the 2.4 Badge rewards at the time. Gonna be saving badges for that Fist MH for a long while.

Going to try tonight with the stats I listed above. My guild is doing single night farm runs so I think that I will be ok, although not the top of the DPS meter. Hopefully I will see some nice jewelry drop since that is where I am seriously lacking, aside from my sub par spec and BoE daggers. This weekend begins the honor grind for S1 daggers, unless I see some nice ones drop tonight.

Missed out on Kara Friday night, but got into a half guild, half pug run of ZA on Saturday. Cleared to the first boss before the group started falling apart. I was #2 in damage, 6% behind an enhancement shammie that was completely insane...had to be T5 or higher. Person behind me by about 3% was a guildie frost mage in mostly Kara drops. Gave me a good feeling.
