Just thinking about the number of times Vanish has broken, I wonder how successful a macro that triggered vanish then made you lie down would be. I think moderate to good success in BGs.
until they right click you to loot you, and they crit you...

Or they have those displayed health bars turned on and can tell exactly how alive you are just by glancing.
It would make them automatically crit you with whatever they were doing. Hence, you wouldn't be faking for long.
Plus you'd have to have a pet alive with you like all the other hunters that feign thinking they're in the clear.
