Has hunters become overpowered?Follow

#1 Jan 22 2008 at 1:26 AM Rating: Default
I was doing yesterday an AV and something very strange happens to me..I was defending IB grave(me stealth and my pet prowl) and 4 hordes came in..2 mage,1 lock, 1 shammy,,and kill em all....i must say very easy...
My point is (as i have said before, i am still a noob and this is my first chara)how can i did this...some facts that you must know is that i am BM 70 lvl(but all 4 of them was 70 lvl) and full of epics with AP 2000 (had BoM and BoK), 30 crit and 270 res..
OK maybe all the others hordes were in green and have not at all any experience in pvp..But how can i kill a mage in 2-3 sec?
Would everyone now starts winning that huntersa are overpowered?(like many do with locks)

Are you kidding? Mages are one of the easiest classes to kill, as a BM hunter, in my opinion. Bestial Wrath/Beast Within completely cuts off all CC they may try and they're squishy cloth wearers. Not so overpowered to kill them.

True..but we all remember that mages were our nightmare when we have dead-zone..and now they are so easy to kill...

They always were. The dead-zone was the major chance they could use to help themselves live but, as a BM hunter, it was still extremely hard for them to make use of it - with CC immunity, how can they keep us in place?

I tend to watch out for druids much more. A good warlock too - but not really mages.

Even as SV (which I've never been, so speaking as a theorist only) if your trinket isn't on cool down you'll pop out of their first FN, and after that they typically die before their FN cool down has expired.

My only issue with Mages in BGs is when they ice block and I'm forced to switch to another target. Annoying, but at least they aren't doing anything while I or we kill their friends.

The 'Lock though... If you can kill 2 Mages a Shaman and a 'Lock, /applaud. Even a poor 'Lock can usually kill me if it's a group fight and I don't have a chance to drop out of combat and eat to keep the dots from finishing me off. My only chance is to kill the 'Lock and then flee (if I've got friends helping draw their attention) so I can try to drop and eat, then return to combat.

And while I'm eating to keep the dots from killing me, I can send my Pet in to let it get a few bites and nips. ;-P

You must have pretty damn good gear to have those kind of numbers with just Might and Kings.

DID SOME ONE SAY MATH ATTACK?

You see a hunter will shoot a 5 gram bullet.
This bullet will travel 41 yards in about .25 seconds soooooo...
Said bullet travels 164 yards per second... 164 Yps if you will
The bullet therefore has a net force of 820 grams.

Being that mage armor is made of cloth... You can imagine what a projectile with 820 grams will do to ones armor and body.

grams is a mass measurement not a force measurement Smiley: oyvey

depending on the class and the situation a hunter can be OP or needs buffs.

against warrs or rogues who spamstring hunters may be needing a buff
but against clothies (mages in particular) hunters can be OP due to their more profound abilities to kite, pet, BTW and other stuff

imo every class has its strengths and weaknesses and those who keep yelling nerf them to their weaknesses and Buff to their strengths.. well... they need to learn to play a balanced game imo

With PvP gear, you can easily achieve those stats.

It's pay back for them freezing you in place and dancing little gnome circles around you as they killed you.

Sounds like your stats are pretty pumped up and your gear is solid the way you tell it... A couple well timed big crits to some clothies in crap gear = dead guys. 30% crit with 2k AP thats alot of damage alot of the time and you have a BM "Win" button to boot.

Maybe some of them were allready damaged when you got the drop on them... Some times you just get on a roll and melt faces off... Some times you get pwned... that's just WoW for ya. Enjoy it. Hunters are not overpowered,,, I am in a guild called "Overpowered" though so I kinda had to lol at this one.

I really rip apart low resilience people if I find 'em. But I thought this thread was going to be about PVE where you statement may actually be a little closer to the truth, since I have yet to find any competition at my gear lvl.
