Couple of simple config questionsFollow

I recently rolled a priest, and was wondering if there is any way to increase the distance you can see the health bars on top of friendly players heads (shift v i think is the default). I find it annoying in bgs that you can only see peoples health bars by mousing over them or if they are really close.

If there's nothing in normal interface that can help can anyone recommend some priest addons that may help with this? I currently use photek and ct_mod. The emergency healing bar on ct_raidassist is nice but it doesnt give you their profile to click on so you have to spend a second or two finding the persons name.

Also is there a way to increase the distance you can target nearest enemy?

I realise these are pretty newbie questions, but I'd like to become a better healer.

Grid is an add-on that will let you see the HP of everyone in the raid (or BG) no matter how far away they are.

As for increasing the distance you can see HP bars etc, there is no way as far as I know.

Grid is an excellent healing addon, and really a good raid-UI addon overall. Easily configurable, and once you configure it and get used to it, you get a *ton* of info just at a quick glance. I had mine set up to tell health, mana, magic or disease debuffs, renew, shield/weakened soul, incoming heals, and PoM, which I could easily see at a glance in a box of squares that covered all 25 people in an area smaller than my chat window. Win!

Thanks guys, I'm checking it out now. I was a little put off at 1st as it looks just like ct_raidassist, but then i read that it can fade out ppl not in healing range - awesome!

You can have grid display the information you care about for each person.

I have the corner indicators show me people who have
pwshield (upper right),
missing raid buff (upper right, different colors)
renew (lower right),
incoming heals (lower left),
disease (upper left brown),
and magic (upper left blue).

I have a center icon for the disease and magic also (scaled down in size).

I have the border around each person show yellow when they gain aggro, and red when they go down in health (taking precedence over aggro).

It is very customizable. Come up with your own scheme for what you want.

Here is a pretty good article on grid configuration:

omg, pet's on grid (*zooms to #1 on my must try when home from work list):

"Pet Group - Checking one or more of those options will add an optional pet group"

Edit: I used the example tonight from the article above. I elongated my bars horizontally. I also used wowaceupdater to add a mana bar and icons to the sides and tops from GridManaBars and GridIndicatorSideIcons. It's looking even better, and now I have pets on grid, hurray.
