Five point Rip... Rupture?Follow

#1 Jan 21 2008 at 7:29 AM Rating: Decent
Our beloved kitty's version of the Rogue Rupture would be our own beloved Rip. I use it all the time on bosses that can bleed, and I have grown quite fond of the fact that it entirely bypasses armor.

However, I have had a question tumbling around in my head since before I turned 70, and I haven't really been able to test it to find out. Does the Rip damage scale by Attack Power like the Rogue Rupture, or doesn't it? Or did Rogue's rupture scale with ap, or am I just thinking of Garotte?

I can't seem to find the answers on places like the Druidwiki, or WoWwiki, so I turn to you guys. Does Rip's bleed damage scale with Attack Power, or is it a fixed damage?

If so, Ferocious Bite is going to have to replace Rip after a certain amount of AP has been gathered.

Looking at the formulas, AP does factor into the damage calculation based on rank of the skill used and how many combo points you have when you use it.

yes, it does, though I can't recall the numbers. I know a 4 and 5-point rip get the same damage from AP.

Right, thanks. Good to know, even though it's only my alt that needs to know it.

Already confirmed above, but yes it does and that is why many people
bind their on-use attack power trinkets to a rip macro.
