Another stealth "Nerf"Follow

It probably went unnoticed, because of how often we use it.

But I was in IF, and heard the someone nearby is stealthed sound. Then a player gets sapped. So I fire off a flare, no dice can't find the rogue. So I fire off my other AoE stealth finder, volley.

Never found the rogue, but I noticed they went back to the old animation for volley. Only it's worse than it was originally. At least the old animation had many arrows rain down from the heavens. Now 4 arrows fall, making it look rather crappy. I even got used to the fountain look of the last volley.

Oh well, I'll get use to it, since I use volley oh so much.

huh, volley was changed?














hmmm... last time i used it was a week or so in kara, but there was so much other AoE going on i couldnt see it XD

Didnt pay attention to it either though.../

I'm glad they changed Volley back. The old one looked cool, but was bugged. After using it, the sound would kinda loop and you'd hear a rushing wind noise until you physically moved yourself from the location.

I got use to it with the rushing wind noise and the spraying fountain look, but they didn't really change it back exactly. They went with the same animation, of arrows falling from the sky. But before, it was many arrows, sometimes falling 3 or 4 at a time. Now, 4 arrows, just 4, not 4 at a time, but just 4 total, fall from the sky. It's pretty sad looking to say the least.

Lucky, mine is bugged so I can't even see my arrows fall. Unless it was the 4 sad little arrows and I was expecting the grand ol' fountain volley it was. Maybe I should try it again to see.

And the wind noise got annoying when in instances.

Check your video settings for spell detail.

Mine looks just like the old version. Dozens of arrows falling out of the sky after I fire my gun.

I'm glad they fixed that annoying bug where the volley roaring sound never ended. I wish they'd go back to the earlier volley of arrows animation also. It provided a hint of the affected area.

You're sad at seeing 4 arrows fall from the sky?

I'm happy I can launch that many from the barrel of my gun! ;p

Its a sad spell anyway, so a sad animation fits it ;)

Explosive Trap + Volley is good for the trash pulls in the ballroom leading to Moroes. Although I have to say, for such an individually weak spell, the cooldown on Volley blows. Still, when you've got 10 mobs clustered together, 1000 damage/second over the duration of the channel is not bad at all, especially (as mentioned) if you drop an Explosive Trap under the tank and then FD before you wind up the Volley.

I remember reading that they went back to the old animation since there were some
problems with the new one and this was a temporary solution.

We'll see about that tho...

I hope they keep it this way. I H.A.T.E.D the "new" animation. Even with spell detail turned up all the way, it looked like crap. It also sounded like some kid blowing into a mic on vent.

And I get more than 4 arrows. I have to turn my spell detail up to see more than 4, but they're there.

So maybe we should be asking about this supposed stealth nerf. Sounds like a 'stealth detection nerf' or a 'stealth buff' for rogues. This misdirect blabbing is killing me. Love you.

Or maybe it was just a good rogue.

They should just change the animation for explosive trap to being either ripples of arrows or bullets (depending on what the caster has equipped). It's just a texture map and they already cache the weapon type.

Personally, I wish they'd just change volley to a cool "bouncing betty" type of trap that can be 'fired' from your bow or gun. As you are targeting the spot, a canister appears at the front of the weapon. You click, it fires, cool bouncing betty animation as targets are shredded.
