Somehow I fail to see the point. It's not the worst hybrid ever.. but..

What do you plan on doing with your hunter?

We will need a bit more information on this. Do you plan to PvP or do PvE or do Arena with the build? I've never liked these multi tree hybrid builds as higher teir skills are too good in my opinion to give up for a few lower teir ones.

Umm, unfortunately this build does not look good at all.

For leveling please try to do either a BM or a MM build.
That is take the first 41 talent points into either Beast Mastery or Marksman tree to get the top tier talent. The deeper you go into one tree, the better the talents become. This is also the reason why one normally does not want to spend points in all three talent trees. There are simply to few talent points to go deep into one tree if you spend points in two other trees.

As you state that is your first hunter, please have a look here.
It is a thread which explains a lot of basic stuff about hunters and should give you a lot of information. There is also a section about talents and popular talent trees which will give you an idea of why to chose some talents and what their uses might be.

After you have read this, please post any questions you have, I'll be glad answering them.

I just can't make heads nor tails of that build. It just doesn't tell me anything I need to know of what it is supposed to accomplish? CC? Then why the pet healing talents? DPS? Well, you don't have any of the mandatory dps talents, like Mortal Shots.

Survivability? That I might see, with the Surv talents chosen, and then a focus on Pet for his survivability...

Still, that build won't accomplish anything at all, really. You will be mediocre or less across the board. As people have said, for leveling you should go for a 41 point talent first. The one that fits best, would be Beastmastery.

For completely pure and adulterated leveling/soloing, I was fond of this build. A 41/0/20 build. Of course, you lose a gargantuan amount of DPS by taking Survival as a secondary tree over Marksman, but gain a quite high amount of survivability. In soloing, your DPS is merely of medium importance. Making sure you are the one standing upright after the fight is done is far more important.

If you find yourself fond of Beastmastery during leveling, you might want to try this build. A 41/20/0 build which will slightly decrease your pet's survivability, and reduce your CC a bit, but will improve your dps by enormous amounts. This is one of the cookie cutter builds, (you got a point or two you can move to different areas as you feel like) and is the highest dps build in the game. It also allows for unparalleled soloing compared to the other favourite end-game build.

Which build is that? Well, you have two options. Either the CC Mastery build, which will really make your traps a CC to be envied, while giving you both Scattershot and Wyvern Sting as backups. Should all of the above fail, you can still use Deterrence to keep that mob occupied until cd's have worn off. Note, however, that all Surv builds have Expose Weakness for a reason. We can head into that with our next build.

Which would be a variation of this build. The variations include but aren't limited to: Deterrence (optional), Clever Traps (optional), Focused Fire (optional, and several other talents. Maxing TotH can be needed when you skip Efficiency, and vice versa, depending on your gear. The really important parts:

Expose Weakness. The single most powerful buff a Hunter can provide end-game. However, it has requirements. I suggest a minimum of 550 agility unbuffed before speccing Surv. Agility must become your main stat of choice if you are going for any Surv build.

Lethal/Mortal Shots. Enormously important for your DPS. 11 talent points all in all, and they will make a gargantuan difference in your DPS. And that's pretty much it. In raids, a Surv Hunter mostly just provides Expose Weakness and some dps. Not enough to take more than one Surv Hunter in a raid, and just enough to warrant a spot when EW is taken into consideration.

I will never recommend a full 41 talent Surv build for raids, though. It's just not worth it, compared to what you get from other trees. My favourite Surv builds are 5/20/36, or 7/20/34.

Right. I went from a leveling build to end game discussions... Ah well. Read the stickies, play your Hunter, and remember this little overall rule of thumb:

BM = Soloing/DPS
MM = PvP/lolDPS
Surv = CC/Raidbuff
