Acceptable as a fury warrior for kara?Follow

#1 Jan 20 2008 at 12:08 AM Rating: Decent
Hey, well I followed the sticky on the pre kara gear list, besides my weapons and 1 trinket, according to the list, I am okay. Now, I know the gear I have is probably the easiest to obtain, cant expect much , and I still haven't put any real enchants on them, incase of an upgrade. I am also working on getting exalted with Aldor for the sword. My concern is my HP, armor and the low leval gear...for some reason I am just not happy with it and don't feel that stat wise that I am ready. So if I go to kara, with good weapons, will I do ok? or should I start aiming for the better stuff?

I wouldn't worry so much about armor, but the HP is a bit low for starting Kara. You shouldn't be taking the brunt of damage, but you WILL take some, so you should have a bit more stam to deal with that. You won't do much DPS as a corpse. You definitely need to pick up a new MH hand though, that will be a huge detriment to your DPS. Hit rating can afford to slack a bit, you honestly have too much for your level of gearing. With precision, you only need 95 hit rating for yellow attacks to never miss on raid bosses, which is what you should aim for while bringing your other stats up. It's never a stat to ignore, but after 95 hit, crit is worth more as a result of flurry, and the fact that it applies to yellow damage while hit does not.

Bring your crit up to 25%, and your AP to around 1.4-1.5k unbuffed in battle and you'll be a lot better off. Don't bother gemming for hit, crit and STR will do you more good. STR is generally a better choice for gemming, but with how low your crit is, gemming for crit might not be a bad idea to get more flurry uptime, and as you approach 25%, start gemming away from crit and replacing it with STR gems.

You didn't ask for advice on spec, but if I MAY, possibly consider giving up imp. charge and 1/2 imp. OP. You won't be OPing much in a raid environment as most of your time will be spent in zerker for the extra AP, crit, and reduced threat. Drop 2 of those points into UW in the fury tree for extra rage gen, and 1 into imp. WW to make your BT/WW cycles more efficient.

You seem to be headed in the right direction, at the very least because you're concerned and asking questions. That's more than a lot will do. You're free to take the advice as you will. Comments anyone else?

Okay, thanks, I ll try to see what I can do. Will 150 hit be okay? Around how much HP should I aim for?
About my talent points, I know I left some points to waste, just a mistake I made. Ill change them later, just wanted to test fury tree.

150 hit is fine. You do however need to get yourself some more crit and AP. 25% crit and 1500 AP is pretty much the minimum acceptable (in battle stance). I'd recommend getting to at least 8k unbuffed HP, although closer to 9k would be ideal.

Personally, I'd say ***** the Aldor sword and go for the S1 gladiator sword. You'll spend pretty close to the same amount of time to get both (unless you're buying a lot of your marks), and the S1 sword is far superior.

Also, as a fury warrior, you're likely going to be asked to off-tank, so make sure you have a decent set of tanking gear.

Good luck,
Camel
