There is no PvE Sub build that can compare to Combat.

PvE Sub=BAD!!!!!!!!!!

Lol.. meaningless post ONCE AGAIN..

Would be your typical Shadowstep Build, i took the 2 points out of Heightened Senses (useless) and Ghostly Strike and put them into Cheat Death (which has saved my life on countless occasions).

I'm sorry, aren't you the one who got verbally raped by most of the Rogue forums when you tried to say that Sub worked in PvE?

Thats what I thought, so please shut up and stop giving people false information.

EDIT: May as well point out a few errors on that build.
-Sleight of Hand is ****.
-Imp. Expose Armor isn't worth it.
-Those 4 points should go into Ghostly Strike and Opportunity.
-From there you would take out two of the points in Camouflage's and fill out Opportunity.

Someone who actually has played Sub a bit would be able to give more info than me.

Still on the front page, even.

why do people post this **** time and time again? do they really not understand that pve sub is the worst of the three trees? look, if you don't like a rogue pve (assassin or combat b/c that's what real rogues choose) then go roll some other class....

This is much worse than a meaningless post, it's giving bad advice. PvE Sub does not work.

Look..

The point is, regardless of how good a Sub Build is for PvE, he still asked for one, if your going to post crap, dont post at all

Sorry, that may be how it works in Happy Fluffy Kitten Land, but here in the real world, you don't always get what you ask for. Ask for something that doesn't exist and we'll tell you that it doesn't exist. Giving somebody bad advice is worse than meaningless, it's misleading. The other posters were to the point and spot on. Subtlety fails for PvE.

The weirdest thing is that before I rolled my first rogue I'd been told Subtlety was only a PvE tree.

I'm glad I didn't state that assertion out loud before reading the FAQ.

Winner.

"What's a better Rogue enchant, +DMG or +Healing!?" is likely to get the same response.

Nooble...I just don't think that this guy has understood that the Rogue Forums are the home to a bunch of cruel, sadistic, heartless, puppy-killing, killjoy bastards. I honestly think it is part of being a Rogue.

Maybe it was because we all went through the same treatment when we started that we became so cold and cruel. Maybe it was morons like these saying retarded things. Maybe it was the beatings given us by Blizz. Whatever it was, were all a bunch of ******** to stupid people.

Anyways...There is absolutely, definitely, positively NO good PvE Sub build. At all. You might have fun...But you will never go to a raid like that and you will always be the worst Rogue around. But if you insist...I would suggest a 0/0/61 build.

The irony in lessonslogic's posts is that he/she neither learns lessons or understands logic. Thought that was interesting.

I tried out a 19/0/42 and a 0/19/42 build over the weekend with my rogue and while both were fun and slightly better in PVP the dps is not there for PVE.

BTW Cheat Death rocks! Shadow step worked fine if the target was standing still but if he was moving you stepped to where he was and rarely got a hit off and "target out of range" was what I got 99% of the time.

I farmed some mobs before and after respecking both elites and non elites and my DPS was from 600-700 dps combat to 400-500 DPS Sub. In Kara Friday night I was #1 on the damage meters Saturday night I was #5 on the meters and yes I didnt spend a real amount of time pve to practice rotations but I think I followed the advice here pretty close.

My biggest dissapointment was the fact that I still was spotted while stealthed more often than not in my 20 arenas and 50+ bg's I did.
This was the main reason I swapped as I am farming bg's for honor to get geared to do better in the arenas and my bigest frustration has been from getting spotted from a full screen away while trying to get to a target.

If I had rolled a rogue just to PVP and stealth around assasian style I would have retired him already, its still funny that the rogue is topping the damage meters in raids and does less in pvp! It just seems to be wrong for the class lol.

The other dissapointment is the fact that vanish fails 90% of the time they give Rogues all these tricks and talents just as a placebo as nearly every class has the ability to unstealth us or kite us endlessly. And it is totally garbage that a mage can "teleport" or whatever it is called while stunned after a cheapshot or kidney shot!!

I don't know, he seems fairly logical. Needs to jump on the Capital Letters bandwagon.

Is anyone going to answer the REAL question presented?

Which IS more important: +DMG or +Healing????

And for my two pennies: If you plan to instance and raid, it's combat. My rogue is there to burn down mobs as directed by the tank in instances. Soloing, your build is your choice but I know for a fact that if my DPS drops too far in groups I'd start losing my place to others who can pull the numbers. It's just the way it is.

Split your gems about 50/50 with +dmg and +healing. That way you can pretend your bandages are healing you for more especially if your Sub for PvE since you wont be doing dmg anyhow.
