Do the ...of the Fallen Hero tokens needed to buy the Demon Stalker set drop for everyone in the raid, similar to Badges of Justice, or do I have to hope the hero badges fall (instead of the Fallen Defender or Fallen Champion) and then win the roll with the other needing classes (mages and locks)? I really hope it's the former, but I have a sinking suspicion that Blizzard's twisted sense of humor will have it as the latter.

you wish they drop for everyone.....
One T4 token drops from Curator/Prince/Mag/Maulgar/Gruul everytime you kill that boss.
Since there are 3 tokens and each is useable by 3 different classes there isnt a huge chance that you'll get them.

Don't the 25-man bosses drop 2 at a time? Been so long since I did Gruul's I really can't remember.

I think the general idea is that for 10-man raids you get 1 token per boss and
for 25-mans you get 2.

Gruul drops two tokens. And you'd think I'd remember if HK was one or two (especially since the last clear I attended was yesterday...), but my faulty memory is pointing me at one token.

In a fit of irony, I had _just_ finished gemming and nethercobra patching Scaled Greaves of Patience perhaps 4 hours prior to this Gruul run. So it's time to farm up another pile of Primal Air for the T4 legs to be patched...

Edit: Random posters (for all that may be worth) on each of Allakhazam, Thottbot, and Wowhead all say HK drops two tokens. With three sources and no contradictions that's a fair bet for being accurate info.

HK doesnt matter for hunters because the T4 shoulders suck anyway.
Beastmaw from Kara are better and in armory even the beastlord shoulders are rated higher.

The Armory is a funny thing. When I select "look for an upgrade" for my Beastmaw Pauldrons I see the T4 shoulders immediately below. But no Beastlord shoulders listed at all. I believe, although I'm not certain, that you'll see a different list depending on what item you're wearing, since the Armory (again, this is just my wag based on my usage of the Armory) seems to perform some kind of weighing of the stats on the item you're looking to upgrade, and gives more weight to other items with similar but higher stats.

But yeah, I've passed on rolling for the T4 shoulder token because I'd only gain 6 raw AP and the other stats make it pretty much a wash against the Beastmaw. I'd rather see someone who gets a more significant upgrade take the token, and there's always a Mage or Warlock or another Hunter who is willing to oblige. :)

We're actually one of the luckiest classes in the game for those tokens. A lot of serious guilds will automatically loot the Tier pieces to healers and main tanks first, regardless of what kind of upgrades the DPS classes need. We only compete with other DPS. Rogues, on the other hand, compete with Pallies and Shammies. Shadow Priests compete with Druids and Warriors. Sucks for them.

From my experience, getting the Tier tokens from Kara and Gruuls are about the same level of difficulty. I've only seen the gloves drop from Curator once. I got them because there was no lock, and the only mage already had them. I've seen the helm from Prince drop once. I won a roll against a mage.

Now, the tokens from High King and Gruul are baffling. They supposedly have a 30% drop rate, but I've cleared GL 6 or 7 times now, and the Fallen Hero pieces drop every.single.time off of both bosses- some times both of the drops are Fallen Hero. It's dropped so many times that I didn't feel bad at all for taking the shoulders. I was pretty much the only option for ranged DPS at the time. All the other regulars in the 25-man group got their shoulders.

I believe the armory does weight the items by their item level. Higher item level = upgrade. As a survival hunter I do not bother to use that armory function at all as I weigh agi a lot higher than all other stats which the armory is obviously not aware of :-)

Yeah... The armory doesn't take much into consideration at all. It rates the Axe of the Gronn Lords as higher than Vengeful Gladiator's Waraxe... because the Gronn Lord has more raw attack power. It doesn't take into consideration the hit rating, crit rating or armor penetration on the waraxe. It rates both of those higher than Legacy, which is the obvious choice for SV hunters.

I would say that the armory is more of a tool to see what's available, rather than a guide as to what item is better than another.

Right. But the presentation by the Armory of different items seems somewhat scattershot. As I described before the Beastlord legs don't even appear when I ask for an upgrade for Scaled Grieves of Patience (it should appear below the SGoP, but it should still be on the list). As another example, I've got an alt Mage with the Kirin Tor Apprentice's Robes. When I ask the Armory to show me upgrades I get two pages of items, with the Apprentice's Robes only 5 up from the bottom of the list. There are lots of great chest pieces listed, but the Spellfire Robe isn't one of them. The Frozen Shadoweave Robe is listed, though, even though it's pretty much the equal of the Spellfire Robe just for Frost spec Mages rather than Fire spec Mages.

Since I am a Fire Spec Mage the inclusion of the Frozen Shadoweave Robe but not the Spellfire Robe just makes no sense, and there is clearly no attempt to vet the list of items presented against the character. Were I not already knowledgeable about the upgrades I can hope to craft or win in an Instance, I'd remain ignorant of the existence of the very fine Spellfire set, and the Armory would be doing me a grave disservice.
