Forewarning: pointless, rambling, imadummy post ahead. Unless yeradummy too, then maybe it'll help.

I've broken my ability-clicking ways, but I don't use any GUI mods like bongos or what have you. So however efficiently I've keybound all my primary abilities, I still have all my used abilities displayed around the standard 4 or 5 actionbars.

So here I am, about halfway to 70, wondering how in the hell you shapeshifting druids manage to have space for all your freaking abilities! Even at only L.36, between healing, cat, bear, and balance tricks, I'm running out of action bar slots and I'm running out of keys to bind to! Dear God, please help me grow an 11th and 12th finger. kthxbye, Rubmyhorns.

Then I noticed the oddest thing: the scrollable actionbar changes when I shift from cat to bear, etc. How annoying! Where are my keybound heals? Ack! Dead. Truth be told, I'd noticed the changing actionbars before, but for some reason didn't put 2-and-2 together to realize that not only did the actionbar change on shift, each form had its own unique actionbar. It was a druidic epiphany (or newbiphany if you will). Now not only can I get some abilities off the secondary action bars and clean up my default GUI, but things like Claw and Maul can share the same keybinding. Eureka!

Momma always used to say, stupid is as stupid does.

Hee.

Actually this is one of many reasons I love my druid. Because you get separate action bars for each form, you have room for all the stuff you need without having to shift bars, and you can still go old-school with your keyboard and not need much in the way of bells and whistles.

But from one add-on resistant player to another, I'd advise getting Healbot even if you never use another add-on. That way you don't have to bother putting heals on, say, your catform toolbar. You just click your bar in Healbot, thanks to 2.3 you'll shift right on out and get your heal, then just hit your hotkey to shift back to cat (or bear).

Yeah - I have my heals & buffs set to mouse clicks as well.

Left click = regrowth
right click = rejuv
thumb button = HT
alt-left click = regrowth
alt-right click = tranquility
shift-left click = decurse
shift-right click = depoison
alt-shift left click = MotW
alt-shift right click = thorns
alt-shift thumb button = OOC
ctrl-shift left click = GotW

That way I have my "caster form" action bar free for stuff like cyclone, entangling roots, moonfire which are great for interrupts etc in BG's

Oofah, I don't know how you guys (and gals, cake) keep all those clicks and alt-clicks and wheelscrolls straight in your heads...beyond my processing power, I guess.

I just keep anything that I want anytime access to in the additional optional bars of the default UI. Combat stuff is directly over the main form-swapped bar, and cc and heals/removals are toward the right. Less urgently-needed stuff like buffs and professions and mounts I have in the bars that run along the right edge of the screen.

Whatever, just another two cents thrown into the pot.

I don't map anything to my mouse. I watch some of my family play with all that scroll-the-middle-wheel-up-half-a-turn crap and it freaks me out. I rarely use my mouse for anything except Healbot. That's right. I said it. I move with my keyboard. Nyah.

I use WASDQE to move, and I have a USB number pad attached to my laptop and just use the numbers for my action bar. The extra action bars that require clicking rather than keystrokes are mostly stuff I use outside of combat (cooking, fishing, coordinates, etc.) - that part sounds similar to what you do.

I don't know what you crazy ninjas are all doing that you need all these fancy macros for, but most of my fights don't require much more than 2-3-4-5-3-7. :)
