Hello! I have question about low level gear! I have a 32 Holy specced BE Priest. I plan to re-spec to shadow at 40, I mostly solo, but do like to heal instances. :D
Now on to my Questions! I know that + healing gear is a must for us healers. I do have a piece or two, it's kinda hard to find some good inexpensive pieces on the AH these days. Should I be using things that up my critical strike rating? or spell hit rating? I'm guessing +healing and critical strike rating when I'm healing instances and Critical strike rating and spell hit when I'm soloing? I don't heal myself much when I'm soloing, just renews and the rare lesser heal when needed during battles.

you don't need +heal on sub-60 gear. just get lots of Intellect. Spirit is #2.
crit strike is for melee
spell crit is for mages
spell hit is for caster dps (your party members WILL NOT resist your heals)

To be honest spell critical rating isn't an issue for you. Its much better to be able to heal predictably for a long time as opposed to relying on critical heals to get you through. This means that the primary things you should be looking for on healing gear is intellect and spirit. Of course the criticals are nice to have, but you'll find that if you concentrate on this stat over the more basic ones that you will start having issues healing in instances due to limited mana.
As for soloing gear, yes the spell hit rating is nice, however you won't find much of it at your level. You can find some nice +damage gear in scarlet monastery though which I'd recommend to you, it lasted me ages. One thing that you'll find if you decide to level shadow above 40 is that +spell damage is more important than +crit given priests poor crit scaling.
