How many PvP pieces should you wear?Follow

... for starting to tank in Karazhan? Right now I have the Heavy Clefthoof Set, and I was wondering if it was worth changing out any of the pieces for PvP gear. The reason I hesitate is that the armor is lower on all of the PvP pieces. The stamina bonuses are just as good, if not better, plus you get agility, intellect, and strength. I'll already have the two-piece 35 resilience bonus once I get my helm, so is it worth getting any others?

Also, what other PvP gear is good (besides the Vindicator's bracers, which I already have, as every bear tank probably should at some point :-P)?

Armory: (note: my gear is kinda weird because I've been PvPing a lot recently and mix together DPS and high-stamina tank gear) http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Sen%27jin&n=Aureliano

Basically: Neck = Necklace of the Deep, with two +12 sta gems
Back = Valiant Defender (lots of armor)
Gloves = Grips of Deftness from Karazhan
Belt = Manimal's Cinch
Rings = Iron Band of the Unbreakable/Violet Signet
Idol = Idol of the Wild (thinking of getting Brutality from Stratholme)

Here is the thread from Emmerald's forum on gearing for Karazhan. It includes items from many different sources including the PvP items you mention. Most of the PvP stuff is fantastic for tanking as it has highish armor, high stam & plenty of agi for dodge & threat.

Here also is Emmeralds early tanking gear list which should also be helpful.

Basically, your first priority is to hit crit immunity (156 Def rating or 103 resilience or a mix of the 2). Keep in mind that any extra resilience over that cap does absolutely nothing in PvE.
