Ok, so I've played my Shaman in a most casual manner from Lvl 1-68.
I concentrated on gaining rep and doing quests just for the fun of it, I quested in every start area and beyond, I got a ram mount at 40 because I didn't want a silly elephant! I splashed the cash and bought rares and epix when ever I could. I spent 3 lvls in silithus getting exalted with CC and doing the quests there, seeing as how all the mobs have had their lvls downgraded.
I didn't start Outland HFP until lvl 65, didn't do a quest until honored with HH (though since the key change I'm not sure why I did that, force of habit?).
I just went through BRD solo for fun, all the bosses bar the last.
But the thing I love most about my Shaman is my new best friends
MR Earth Elemental and MR Fire Elemental
These guys ROCK!!! I love the fact they are on seperate cooldowns (20 mins each, 2 mins per summon) and
YOU CAN HEAL THEM!!!!!1!
Call me a noob but I never even tried to heal my Earth Elemental, but I tried today in BRD and I'm like WTF!
So, if you have a Shammy and your not yet at lvl 66 I think this is possibly the best thing ever!
Is it wrong that I want to give them names? and I feel sad when they have only a few seconds left and I /wave at them.

I hope not, cause we'd both be weird. I like to /salute and /thank Rocky and Flamer before they despawn/dismiss too.
As for healing Rocky, try this macro. Hold alt (or whatever else you put in the "nomodifier") to cast him, and just hit the key to LHW him without switching targets:

Try as I may I can never get a macro to work :( I don't even know what a 'nomodifier' is!
ya the ele's are pretty cool, using them in AV to tank balinda, or poppin it to save a group or tank a boss non heroic...
But I miss when I first got it, if I had an elite quest i just made sure my Earth ele was up and would be able to solo it while lvling up.
Its a shame, I use my eles as tools to escape from instances without dieing now, not much else they can be used for in heroics.

I wear rocket boots and carry swiftness pots all the time now when I'm doing heroics :D saves me the 3-4g per death repair bill
and yeah
I love my elementals they are the epitomy of gank ownage cuz you can just drop your fire ele and then bloodlust and you win :D

Sadly no, they are just called Greater fire/earth elemental.
Its only in our minds eye where they have names like 'Rocky' and 'Flamey'
Should we start a petition?
