Stormshroud Armor- Worth it?Follow

My rogue just dinged 50 last night, and I've been eyeing (read:drooling over) the various pieces of Stormshroud Armor. You can see all the pieces here: Stormshroud Armor
I know the set will be expensive, even though I can get it made at cost. I'm concerned about two things:

First, is the lack of agi/sta on these pieces a big problem? So far I've basically just been wearing greens ...of the Monkey, with a few instance/quest drops thrown in. What I'm really worried about here is the loss of stamina, because (I assume) the crit rating on stormshroud is pretty much equal to the agi I'd otherwise be getting.

Second, how soon will I be replacing these things? I know there's a lot of good stuff to be had in outland, but a ton of crit rating and dodge rating, plus the set bonuses, makes this gear look really appealing.

Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated.

Agreed. Just do your normal questing and gather the rewards from them to 58 and then move on to Outland green quest rewards are better than old world epics.

There is also a bug with the stormshroud armor that Blizzard haven't bothered fixing despite being aware of it (as far as I know anyway).

I had it on my rogue Pre BC and the two piece bonus:

Quote:
2: 5% chance of dealing 15 to 25 Nature damage on a successful melee attack.

...Is applied after you perform special moves. Meaning that if you gouge and the nature damage procs off the gouge, the damage is applied after and breaks it.

Pain in the **** if you are leveling as a dagger rogue or if you use it for those very tight "Gouge and run" or "Gouge & bandage" situations when you have no other cooldowns.

Combine that with the fact that outlands gear will replace everything and it isn't really worth getting unless you have instant - easy accessibility to them and don't mind dropping them in a few levels. In that case, go for it.

i agree, i wasted my time getting the gloves/pants/chest patterns...just to replace them with devilsaur gear just to replace them when I got to outlands..i got a blue chestpiece after 30 min of questing there w/ like 400 armor 20+ agil 20+stam 20+strength.

if i could do it over, i'd have saved all my $ and time and honor for lvl 70

Agreed. I replaced both my off-hand and head piece (both pretty good old world blues) within the first hour of killing orcs near thrallmar. One drop, one reward. Even though the old-world stuff for 50+ might be fun to farm for -- nostalgia and all -- in the end it's all going to be replaced soon with more practical pieces.

Stormshroud was of dubious use at level 60, often ignored totally since most people prefered Devilsaur anyway.

Now that you can get better level 60-61 gear in outland, there's really no point in getting it.
