You can read the stats of all races at level 70 on the offician WOW website. Blood Elves get the most intellect of all the others on the Horde side, but I dont know if anyone has more spirit. The stats are more important than racial benefits, usually.

To answer all your question i will use a runon sentance, race isn't important its what you want to look at for ever, choosing BE will effect you only if you sont like looking at them for ever, yes you can quest in the BE starting zone.

It's a difference of +/-1 at level 70. Hardly anything to worry about. What you meant was that the racial benefits are more important than the stats, right?

IMO race is not important at all. Pick the one you like the look of. Nothing is worse than getting 40-50 levels into a toon and hating how stupid they look but being unable to reroll because you've made too much progress.

Racials are designed to be rather insignificant. The last thing Bliz wants is for everyone to roll one race for every class because it is "best" and they have designed the racial system accordingly.

Whereas I agree that you should pick a race you like looking at (or at least a class you would not be hating the looks of), I always keep in mind that I will be PVPing (as I like BG's / Arena).

And, though after four undead as change was nice, the free -get out of fear- card that will of the Forsaken (undead racial) gives is still rather nice. though some might argue more important for melee classes who MUST close up(using it against priests and locks) I found it still useful as a SP.

Race makes more difference for Priests than for any other class because of racial spells...but it still makes very little difference in PVE and not too much difference in PVP. Furthermore, the racial spells get revised often, so there's no point in planning around them.

As for your second question: Trolls and Undead *can* quest in the BE starting area, except for the very earliest quests which are BE only. (And you couldn't finish some of them anyway--one requires you to Mana Tap, for example). I'd personally recommend finishing your own starter area quests, then when you head out of the Valley of Trials/Tirisfal glades, take the zepplin/walk to the Undercity and take the transporter there to Silvermoon, then head to the Silvermoon ruins and quest onward from there.

I also think you might need to visit a priest trainer in your race capital at level 20 to get your own race spells.
