or
http://www.stage6.com/user/oakenwrath/video/2168901/

i might outgear them, but my felguard can´t dps every other phase
on surpremus.

didn´t do any editing, cause i am really slow at that, and
guild was getting pushy about the video. maybe someday i´ll take
the time and edit all the videos i got and make a nice demo-lock
movie.

nice vids, though i can see plenty of reasons why they're behind you.

from what i can tell form inspecting the debuff bar:

1. one of the locks is full afliction, and i'm presuming he's the one on CoS duty.
2. another lock is doing CoE
3. another is stupid enough to do CoA
4. you get to use CoD
5. only you and the full afliction lock are using dots, and the afliction lock has large gaps between renewing his dots
6. the destruction warlocks aren't using dots, and on a boss like that where you end up moving alot + it moves alot, you NEED the dots, regardless of spec (as 0/21/40 i usually only cast corruption. but on that boss immolate will be going up to 'cos of the amount of movement)

so yeah, end conclusion. you do alot more damage because you're the only one who actually knows about spell rotations; the importance of keeping a tight dot cycle and you get to use CoD (which is roughly a 120-200dps increase) instead of CoS/CoE or CoRec (which i didn't see, but should of been up).

oh, oaken. what program do you use to compress your vids? the quality was pretty good and not a bad size for the duration. also i'm presuming you record with fraps right?

I respec'd Lolguard to test it out. I had to resummon the ******* thing like 6 times during A'lar, which eventually hurt my DPS, but for VR/Vashj the little axe wielding maniac was kept up from incidental damage by the T5 2pc and a Spriest which let him do decent damage. Over all I wasn't impressed, but I was surely satisfied. I generally fly in the 3rd to 6th range on DPS meters and I did for those fights, too. More time is needed to learn to handle the spec better, but it worked pretty well.

A´lar is really tricky, even though you cannot pull aggro in phase 1, that means your demon can pull the aggro of the second, but will usually pull aggro off the tank on platform 3. That means you should resummon him right beside you and make it sit there until phase 1 is over.
In phase 2 you can set him on A´lar, but watch the flamepatches he leaves in phase 2. Glad you tried it as raid-demo.

i like good progress, but not really at the cost of having to reach it with jerks.

and wohoooo!!!!!!!!! scholar-title

The preferred raid spec depends on your play style and which you like better. You can argue all day long, that is the final answer.

I'll happily argue against that :) The best raid-spec is the one that gets you (and keeps you) in a raid. It's no good saying "...if you love demonology then that is the best raid spec for you" - because if your dps output is below par and the raid leader keeps you on the benches because of that, then it's not a great spec is it ?

I personally think the two best raiding specs are :

0/21/40 - Destruction - don't really need to say much about this one.
UA/Bane - Offering Raid Utility with Malediction and Shadow Embrace - and put's out pretty good dps on top of that.

You will not find many serious raiding warlocks without those builds.

you forgot to add 40/0/21. basically just a slight variation to UA./bane due to improvements in your gear (breaking 25% crit rate, nearing 202 hit) where ruin becomes a larger increase than UA.

Fair point - I haven't looked into that alot, but sacrificing UA for Ruin sounds like a plan. It would be interesting to see how much affliction based builds are buffed by the reduced GCD from haste rating.

yes ruin will takeover UA at around 20% crit.

Raid demo is a really strong specc, but it reall sucks at 3 bosses i encountered so far, one being najentus, one a´lar (still doable easylie) and archimonde.

on archimonde doesn't your pet despawne everytime you're knocked back?

don´t laugh jen, but usually i stand pretty close to archimonde (which is a real bad idea if you aren´t exceptionally fast to react on the flames and have a good latency) due to my limited range, no it doesn´t despawn.
and i have the 2min cooldown horde trinket to get out of fear + wotf.

but archmimonde is one of the 3 hardest fights in BC with Fel Guard.
You have to keep hin on a real tight leash combined with abit of luck.
But on the other hand Archimonde is not about max dps, but it´s more about that everyone survives. 4,1 or 4,8 million HP (don´t remember the exact value right now) are taken down rather easylie if no one dies.
