Got wrecked in 5v5Follow

So a few guildmates and I created a 5v5 arena team last night.

Myself: warrior 35/5/21 ----> 3 S1 pieces, 1 S2 piece. few blues, couple greens.
Ret Palli---->S1 and pvp gear with a couple of dungeon blues
Holy Palli----> lots of greens (working on gear atm)
Warlock-spec?--->mix of dungeon,S1, pvp gear
Mage-spec?----> mix of dungeon,S1, pvp gear

We expected to get knocked around a fair amount, but the results were quite laughable. We were like children to them...most of the time losing 5-0, we were cheering if we even managed to knock-down one or two out of their 5.

Myself and the ret-palli do have some experience with 2v2 arena. But of course this is totally different.

Anyone have any advice for what kind of strategy to use? Should the melee be running out and attacking, or hanging back and defending the healer? Is focus-fire the way to go? What should the casters be assigned to do/look for?

Any help would be appreciated....we did manage to win one match, so we're holding our head's up a little bit still.

Thanks!

It will be tough even in the 1400s with little experience and less than full s1. Soon you'll get knocked down enough to play comparably equipped teams, and it will be a lot more fun. With 4 DPS like you're running, it is absolutely critical to down an opposing player, any player, as soon as possible. Shamans with their bloodlust are tremendously helpful for quick kills, but as it is you're just gonna have to do your best to take somebody. Use your lock to try to control at least one of the opposing healers (CoT every caster, and fear people), possibly your mage on a healer (poly, silence) as well, get MS on the target immediately, and unload with everything you have. The mage and lock will have to be skilled enough to switch targets quickly to help burst somebody down as they attempt to control 1 or more of their healers. Your healer will just have to fend for himself most of the time- with 4 DPS you have to kill somebody fast, since you can't win a heal and mana war. Good luck and it will get better when your rating stabilizes a little.
