Also "known" as the 29/21/11 build. Has anyone tried it?

I'm thinking of taking my Warlock for a lil' funtime in the battlegrounds, but I don't like being deep Affliction and a SL/SL build lacks burst damage. She's SL/SL spec'd right now and while Soul Link is awesome, it's just delaying the inevitable if I can't deliver the punch.

So figured...

The health returning benefits of Siphon Life.
The ability to sac a pet (I hate basing a build on a pet that costs soul shards to resummon WHEN it dies).
The burst damage of Shadowburn.

That has got to outweigh Soul Link, right?

Me too. Dot absolutely everyone from safety (SL/SL) and move forward to drain/searing pain finish people at the right times. Ideally you just don't die in battlegrounds, and while everyone around you is dying you're creeping to the top of the BG list. I almost always finish average battlegrounds like 20-1 or 16-0, and I usually dominate overall damage done.

Situational awareness, you can survive alot, but you can't rush headfirst solo into a group of 3 rogues and 3 warriors. Common sense stuff. I miss shadowburn but theres no way I'm specing out of SL/SL, unless for 5v5 arena.

Some games in EoTS the other team is just too good to give you 3 towers. Thats the ideal win situation (tower control) but quite often it comes down to a 2 tower + flag cap race. Don't forget SoC on that tightly packed flag, its amazing, especially if you get a healbot to keep you topped off while you lifetap.

But it comes down to playstyle, you'd have good good shadow damage with that build. Honestly lots of specs can work for battlegrounds, its more situational awareness then spec there. I wouldn't want to sac my pet in a BG personally unless for a specific reason (I have a mashable summon void->sac button), but generally I always want my felhunter out for utility.

I did a DS build a couple times, and I always enjoy playing it too. Although both times I specced like that was as 40/21/0. I tried doing a couple arena games as that, but obviously they turned out miserably. In battlegrounds, however, survivability isn't nearly as big an issue with 9 to 39 other people with you.

I liked watching my SBs hit for a lot more than they used to, and with so many people dotted the Instant ones appeared relatively often, and the dots themselves did a chunk more damage. Of course, with your build there your Shadow Bolts will fly faster, and then there's Shadowburn. I, however, couldn't live without IHoT if I didn't have Soul Link. Even without survivability as a big problem, instant fear bombing is just damn fun.

I'm also thinking about going as 0/21/40 just to see what happens in BGs.
