Does this really drop in "normal" SV. I have ran it over 12 times and it has yet to drop.

Yes it drops on normal.
Im halfway to exalted with SLabs and never sen the breastplate of many graces drop

The mask has dropped 3/3 times I ran it in normal. Luck I guess.
The mask does drop in normal (I got it on run 4 I think).
Also, I feel your pain CapJack. I didn't see the breastplate until the 14th run of SL, and didn't see the Admantite Figurine I was actually going for until the 16th. I think I'm about 2 runs away from exalted...
Oh, and Dilbert. I don't think it matters where you link to as all the database sites are owned by the same company now anyway (or will be soon). The same people are making the money however you do it.

I got my Mask of Penance on my second try :-/ After hearing so many horror stories, I consider myself quite lucky. Still no Breastplate of Many Graces for me though; in all honesty I suppose I'd rather lose 10 straight Arathi Basins than make another feeble attempt against SLabs again. /Sigh

Oh Nimrokon... If 5,000+ years of recorded history have taught us anything, it's the fact that regardless of our similarities, people in communities other than our own are inherently inferior and must all be eliminated or at least shunned.

yes, i got mask of pennance long before i was doing heroics. many graces i was maxed out on exalted before it finally dropped for me i think. i hate SL with a passion now...
yeah, i got mask of pennance long before i was doing herois. many graces was the one i wasn't sure dropped. it finally dropped after i was already exalter with lower city.

I never saw that helm drop until I built myself the engineering helm - dropped first run after that.
As for the breastplate, I ran SL from around mid-Honoured all the way to exalted. I've still never seen it drop. I have a better chest now (from ZA I think it was) but every time I see a pally in that breastplate I want to smash Blizzard's face in.
Yeah but if you use an alla link, then I can mouseover it and quickly see the stats instead of having to click it and wait for another window to open

Good Point. I do like those hover over links. Linking to other sites is a no no...
I keep expecting to see those "hover-over" links when I look at my guild's news page, but nope :S I think I'm becoming spoiled.
The Mask dropped for me on my first normal SV run, I was a very happy camper. Haven't gotten the Breastplate from Vorpil, but we've only downed him once in something like 5 trips to SL in a week :( A couple of the groups it was all we could do to get past the blasted Blackheart, I don't think anyone had anything left in the tank for Vorpil.
I've seen the Mask of Penance drop 3 times for me, and in other instances lots of healadin items, but never any shaman items.
I got halfway to exalted with CE before the mask dropped.
The breastplate dropped on my first even SL run... unfortunately I was there with my druid. In the end I used a mail breastplate with similar stats (dropped of murmur I think) until Illhoof coughed up a nice replacement for me.

For some arcane and weird reason, my guild can never get a group together for SL so I've been forced to PUG it. I've only managed to get past Blackheart twice before the PUG breaks up and I've never seen the breastplate drop. The last group had a hungarian huntard that refused to trap and a tank that couldn't hold aggro. *sigh*
I want it so badly but I think it's never going to come so now I'm saving for the Ornamented Gladiator BP because I'm sick of groups breaking up in there.

Dropped for me on my second run. I did Slabs about 15 times and not once did i see Breastplate of many graces drop, so i gave up and juts pvped for the glad chest.
The Mask of Pennace is definitely a pain to get. I had to go through SV about 15 times to get it but it was worth it. I didn't upgrade it until I could make my Engineering Goggles. Now if you want a healdin piece that never seems to drop...Wait until you need the Lightbinder's Breastplate off Illhoof in Karazhan...Once a week for the last four months and I still havent seen that thing drop....EVER!

Let me tell you a story. It's a story of Murmur, a sword, and a mage who did something like 25 runs to get it.
On my paladin's first ever run of Kara(my guild at the time needed a replacement healer when someone bowed out, and I was decently geared), I got that chestpiece, 3 other pieces of healing plate, a piece of healing cloth, a piece of healing leather, the trinket off of Aran and Gorehowl(no one else could physically use it except a prot paladin and another healadin).

i helped a guildie farm the Mask for his pally alt. takes about 8 mins per run. got it on the 3rd run. the rep to exalted was a nice bonus too.
If it's any consolation I had to run Slabs 11 times--and go through 22 drops from Murmur--to get my Tidefury Kilt.
Definitely available in normal.. I was lucky enough to have it drop on my first time in SV. As for the Brestplate of Many Graces? 21 Runs of SL before it dropped :s.
