tanking legs for protFollow

#1 Jan 16 2008 at 1:17 AM Rating: Decent
was running, well trying to run heroic ramps on my hunter just for some badges. We wiped on the second mob!!!! Now granted my hunter's gear isn't ideal but it is 99% kara ready so I wasn't to worried about holding group back. After we wiped, I checked out the tanks gear to see what he had on. These were his pants http://thottbot.com/i23488. When I asked him why at 70 he still had pants at 62 he said these were the best pants before heroics and kara. Seems a little odd but since I've never rolled a warrior I put it to those who know what a good prot warrior should be wearing to get into heroic ramps

That doesn't link to an item. It just opens up the search page on thotbot.

Ha. Definitely not those. There are a lot better out there. Felsteel and the legs from KoT revered come to mind.

Yeah most tanks would start out with the Felsteel pants and then the CoT rep pants once they are able to get them. After that either Curator drop or Badge pants.

Another vote for the Felsteel pants. I don't even plan on getting the CoT rep pants.

Another tank in my guild is using the DPS plate legs from H Mech and gemmed them into tanking pants.

OMFG lol the keepers of time pants are the easiest thing in the world to get. Here's a list of CoT quests:

Hero of the Brood (Black Morass quest) - 8000 rep
Return to Andormu (Durnholde quest) - 3000 rep
Escape from Durnholde (Durnholde quest) - 1000 rep
Taretha's Diversion (Durnholde quest) - 1000 rep
Opening the Dark Portal (Black Morass quest) - 500 rep
The Black Morass (Black Morass quest) - 250 rep
The Caverns of Time (Introductory quest) - 250 rep

Total is 14,000 rep (15,400 for human)! It's only 21,000 to get to Revered.

So in two runs (one Durn and one BM) you're 70% of the way to revered. And the above doesn't even factor in that you'll get around 700-1000 rep from killing the mobs on each run.

I did BM like twice and Durn about 3-4 times and I got my Timewarden's Leggings. Would have been much faster if I were a human.

Yeah he's wrong. There are MUCH better tanking pants before heroics and Kara.
