To heal or not to healFollow

I have this story that happened to me a few weeks ago. I thought it would be nice to have your feed back on what happened.

I have a 33 priest but I was with my main, a 70 warlock, doing the Kara key chain. I was in a group trying to complete the Old Hillsbrad Foothills instance. We had no tank but doing fine until the Thrall event. After a few wipes the healer left. So we were 4: me, 2 hunters and a Shadow Priest. I invited a guildie, a Kara geared bear tank, who kindly agreed to help us. Our tank issue was solved.

We asked the SP if he would heal and he agreed. We had no other choice left anyway. We started the Thrall encounter… the priest was still in his Shadow form. We asked him again if he would pop out and healed, again he said yes. We went through the first group of mobs then the second and at the third group our mighty tank died. He received no direct heal; the priest was still in shadow form.

Do I need to say I was upset? After a quick chat with my guild buddy I decided to kick the SP and to invite another friend to heal (I was the group leader). The instance was completed in a matter of minutes.

I don’t like doing this; hopefully it’s the only time I’ve done it. What you guys think of that situation? I understand that some SPs prefer not to heal but what if there are no other choices?

It's not brain surgery...of course the Shadow Priest needed to leave Shadow form and start laying down Greater Heals for you to finish the event. If you spelled that out for him and he wouldn't cooperate, but told you he would, that's inconsiderate on his part and you were right to boot him.

On the other hand, if he didn't think he could heal that final fight even with a Kara tank and told you so, it would have been ingracious of you to kick him. In that situation, I honestly would have found them a healer and left the party myself.

In any situation i dont understand why a player wouldn't do what ids nesscecary to complete a pug run with least resistance between players. I have also had a few problems with this myself. As a holy priest my survivability is pretty low.

IMO when running with any hybrid class that can do anyhting different to help the group complete the mission, i think that they need to get there head out of there asses and quit being so selfish.

In my encounter, i was healing heroic slabs and got jumped by a rogue during a pull, with sheep that was cced and another mob being tanked, the tank immediately pick up the rogue but it was too late for me. I died and there was an elemental shaman, he could have easily saved the group a wipe and started healing THOUGH i know he wasn't speced for healing.

I dont know why the shadow priest didn't get out of shadow form to heal. I know sometimes in raids the dps gets tunnle vision and always wants to be #1 on the damage meters that they loose focus and dont see that the tank is stunned and they have just past him on threat and wipe the raid.

Some players are just selfish as hell and your not going to change that, but get into a good guild that can support any of your needs via reg and heroic instances, kara, and za runs.

All in all the players you play with come from different aspects of the game and different play styles. Not all players show the same respect, courtious, and respect for other players as i pressume that you have and that i show while in-game.

I hope i helped you on y0our question ;)
