hunter

arms "warrior" with 61 points in arms and no tank set

T_T i tried to run heroic ramps with these two in my group. the other dps was a lock in full epics and pally healer with a lot of s1 gear. we wiped 5 times clearing up to the first boss, with me multimob tanking every pull.

every time an undergeared noob tries to run a heroic, god kills a kitten.

Wow, your group=winnah!

No offense, but if you're the tank, you have the power to pick and chose, and I defintely wouldn't have picked them. The warrior obviously needs to learn that the Carrot on a Stick and Riding Crop don't stack and that 61 points into a talent tree are never good.

I feel your pain bro. I can't stand all the new people trying to do Heroics in their greens now that they only have to be honored. GG. Can't save em all I guess. Better luck next time.

I think having the carrot and riding crop equipped at the same time pretty much says it all. Well... so does the 61 points in arms... and the mostly green lineup for a heroic... and... and...

Yeah. Bad.

With all his gear, he doesn't have any good stats. You'd think he'd at least stumble into something. I guess he just doesn't really know what any of those stats mean. Only 51 points in a profession, too. What'd this guy do on his way to 70? You can build a better set than that just on Outland quest rewards. Oh well. They can't all be winners.

I'm gonna make an alliance toon on his server and try talking some sense into him. I might just let him know that I saw his link to armory on a forum and that everyone is laughing at him. I just hope I can save this guy..but it might be too late. I guess he can say he's truly a FULL ARMS warrior minus imp hamstring.

Wow...he has as much hp as my warrior has in farm/dps gear O.O

Sometimes, I wonder if the time I spent getting some of my stuff is worth it xD

Anyways, I don't really blame him if he didn't have the proper "guidance". There's an adorable little girl in my guild and she has 61 points in Beastmastery because she likes it. I know her dad and we agree to let her stay that way since she's having a lot of fun pvping. That's what matters :)

Back on topic.

Yeah, this guy is pretty bad considering that he's actually doing heroics with 61 points in Arms. Very sad about his profession though. 51 enchanting and he still has a free profession slot. Well, I'm glad I did my research and stuff...so I don't laughed at >_>

In our guild, we will try heroics with anyone regardless of gear but we also tend to move slow and careful. A typical guild heroic run will often have one or two marginally geared players and it's usually not an issue though we also tend to stick to the easier heroics for the new 70s. We are considering making heroic participation a requirement for Kara as they seem to require a similar level of gear and teamwork.

While I agree that merely having honored rep with a faction is not enough to make a person 'ready' for heroics, a person has to begin somewhere and they aren't likely to be starting out in epic gear. Being less geared means that the group will take longer and will have to be more careful.
#9REDACTED, Posted: Jan 15 2008 at 4:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well all i can say about wiping on trash.. unless sumone seriusly screwed up, the reason for this is either tanks, healers, or the CC. usually the tank since he should be in charge.

The only thing I can find really wrong with the hunter is gear, but it's not 'OMGwtf' bad gear. Honestly, he should be able to DPS heroics in that, ASSUMING he knows what he's doing. BM is the most gear friendly spec on the planet, on the most gear friendly class in the game. He's undergeared, but who the hell wasn't at one point?

The warrior though...wow. This guy is no champ either, a buddy of mine almost ran with him last night..until he realized this was the TANK for the heroic. It's awesome that someone can go 37 points into prot and not bother to get Defiance...or go 4 more in and get Devastate, for that matter.

I especially like the +INT boots on that warrior. It pays to be a smart warrior.

I find his use of gems to be interesting. He's gemmed some of his better tanking pieces with DPS type gems and gemmed his Ragesteel shoulders with tanking gems.

I guess he felt it was better to specialize in two-handed weapons and poleaxes rather than get devestate. From looking at his talent points, maybe his tanking plan is to keep his target bleeding and stunned (3 points in imp revenge) rather than the more traditional approach of using threat to keep a mob off the squishies. I think if I was trying to use deep wounds and poleaxe spec to increase crit chance, I would have put points into Impale rather than the two-handed weapons. I would also have found a way to max out cruelty to increase crit chance to get deep wounds to proc more.

hm, i think there might still be hope for this guy. he could pick up 1200 health by switching to 12 stam gems. he needs 59 more defense to hit 490, which he could probably pick up from the dabiri's enigma trink and the trink from the 2nd boss of SL. his talent trees are headed in sort of the right direction, i think he just needs a bit of prodding.

Man, outside of PVP gear my hunter really outgears that hunter and he's just my goldfarmer that's ran MAYBE 3 70 instances total.

Edit: oh wow, that warrior. Oh... wow. That's just... oh. Man.

I don't think it is the Hunter's gear so much that is the problem. He is not the best geared player but...

His spec is lacking somewhat. 51 points in BeastMastery tree is well... pointless. the most anyone should need in that tree is 44 and thats to get everything they need.

I am with Pigeon on this for the hunter. He looks like he can be saved... prolly never seen any forum to help guide this individual.

I think the warrior read this thread. He's now 16/45, and no equipped trinkets. Smiley: laugh

My favorite part of the profile was his 2v2 team. 1111 rating. I didn't even realize ratings went that low!
