I don't care so much if we drop :P I'm just keeping my 2 up there and getting points from my 3 until I get enough point for my S3 offhand (on Jan22)!

It's kinda funny how it happened.

Me and my priest were pretty depressed. Not expecting to reach 1850 and even looking for new partners... but we figured, let's play anyway.

Qs are long, we're chatting it up, I'm updating pics on Alla... for a bit we go 50/50... then we start winning. And winning... and winning.

Then my priests says 'Q up quick and don't say anything!'. See, we have an habit of going 'omg! 1840! almost there!' and then losing. Feels like we're jyxing it :\. I look it up... 1844 points Smiley: nod

Now I'm nervous. Hands are shaking. I get up, takes some deep breath, stretch a little. Pet one of my dog... then the Q pop! zomg!

It's a Shaman/Warrior. Now those fight can be tricky. It all depends on how good the warrior is. The typical warrior bind hamstring/MS/Intercept to 1/3 of their keyboard each and then roll their face on it. With a good partner, that's good enough to get you 2k rating. The real good warriors understand that they have more then 3 abilities and can make a shaman/war team work by protecting his shaman.

Well, it was a typical warrior. He latched to my priest and never cared that I was beating his shaman down a lot faster then he was beating my priest. My priest even dispelled his Nature's Swiftness. We beat them fairly easily and they only gave us 13 points, but that was enough. :)

We were amazingly lucky in match up... got paired against a lot of hunter/priest (which we crush), some PLD/X (pld still do 2s???) and even a oddball mage/warlock combo (farm for 32 points)... and we only fought 1 druid team. Can't complain Smiley: grin

But yeah, realistically speaking, this was pretty much given to us on a silver platter... we couldn't have asked for better fights.

Coming from the other side of the aisle as it were, that fight is more on the Shaman than the Warrior. Between Poison Cleansing and ES (LoS the Priest while the Warrior locks him up, then drag the Rogue away after you burn all the Priests buffs at the start) and there's no way you should lose that race. ES ftw.

Good job on the rating, we finished at around the same this week (second week this season, although we played a lot in S1).

EDIT: Removed assholery.

The warrior's ability to hamstring the priest, then Intercept/Hamstring the rogue, and go back to the priest has always been key in our defeats against that team to be honest. Warrior that go tunnel vision on the priest usually lost it for their team (like that last warrior did). The Shaman can take get an easy Cure Poison off and that force the rogue to use a CD to get back in the fight.

Cleansing Totem isn't that effective a counter to Shiv spamming. Not to mention that in this particular case, my priest just ran around the pillar (Nagrand Arena) with the warrior following him, so for most of the fight he was outside of ES range due to the warrior getting kited.

We've lost our fair share of fight to that combo, it can be quite dangerous... but those guys were obviously just riding the Sword Spec + WF totem + Heroism lucky crit string bandwagon and with my priest didn't die in the first 10 seconds, it went downhill for them.

Again, not complaining, I'd rather fight them all day then fight War/Druid >_>

Grats Tyr.

The warriors won't like you if you give away their face-rolling strategy though. I'm almost curious as to what would happen if you put a third of all your keys to one ability (hamstring ms and intercept) then gave a retarded blind monkey the computer and let him play your warrior. I really think they could actually do very well.

I usually Intervene the Shaman then Intercept the Priest again, but yeah. Earthbind is helpful too depending upon how far apart we are, but throwing an early Disarm on the Rogue helps immensely.

Nothing wrong with facing awful players, though.

Get off my thread :P

And I'm 17/44... I dropped blade twisting and maxed vitality for raiding. Blade Twisting was nice, but I didn't feel like respeccing for arena, since we both expected it to go poorly.

I didn't have BT when I hit 1850... so how much did it really help?

BT is useful for one type of match really - War/Druid. And even so, you still lose more often then you win.
#19 Jan 16 2008 at 1:49 AM Rating: Decent
OMG you did it! Gratz! :)

I can only get 1850 in my wet dream. >.<
