Ok I looked but am still confused.

Lvl 48 NE Druid
I currently have 5 talent points in Mark of the Wild but a guildie gave me a book for Gift of the Wild rank 1 that I can learn in two levels. Does Gift of the Wild replace Mark of the wild? I doubt very much that they stack and was wondering if I can respec with Gift of the Wild to eliminate Mark of the Wild from my current talents. A little confused in this regard so some feedback would be appreciated. Is there a point in having both Mark of the wild and Gift of the wild, or do you need one to learn the other.

Thanks for your feedback

Mark of the Wild is a single-target spell which does not require a reagent to cast. It lasts 30 mins.

Gift of the Wild is a group-cast spell which requires a reagent to cast. It lasts 1 hour

The stats are the same...the only difference is the time and the number of targets. You will end up using them both. MoW when you solo and GoW when you are in groups.

By the way. That book is no longer required to learn Gift of the Wild. You can now train it at class trainer. So just vendor the book.

The stats are the same in the blessing they give with the expection that the Gift of the wild requires a reagant and can be given to your entire party at once and lasts 1 hour instead of 30 min. Right now you have to bless each person individually and it lasts 30 min. I still have both on my bar but use Gift most often. I use MOW in BG and for blessing random folks in my journey around the world. Hope that helps.

First of all, you don't have any talent points in Mark of the Wild. That's a regular spell you learn from a trainer. No sarcasm here, just clarifying what everything is because there's lots of druid stuff that ends in "of the wild."

Gift of the Wild, as has already been mentioned, is the group version of the Mark of the Wild buff. All it does is cast it party-wide versus a single target. You can learn it from the book or your trainer, making the book a cute but useless touch. One spell does not replace the other; you just use them in different situations. (Mark on yourself, Gift if you want to buff your whole party; although frankly when grouped I still use Mark because I'm too lazy to carry reagents.) You're right, they don't stack, you'd never have reason to cast both.

The talents you may be thinking of are Improved Mark of the Wild and Heart of the Wild. You mention respeccing but getting Gift of the Wild shouldn't have any impact on your talent choices.

(edited for typos)

If I were in your position, I would use the book to train in Gift of the Wild instead of the trainer due to it being essentially a 'free' train. Save the cost of having to train the same thing from the trainer. :)
