What spec do you playFollow

#1 Jan 14 2008 at 2:31 AM Rating: Decent
Hi folks,

we have a lot of spec discussions on these forums and from most regulars I know which specs they play.
However I'd like to have an idea of what is the most played spec.
If you are interested in this as well, please take a few seconds to select the spec you play on your hunter in this poll:

What is the talent spec you play on your hunter? (If you play different specs, chose the one you play the most)
BM/mm:44 (60.3%)
BM/sv:5 (6.8%)
MM/bm:2 (2.7%)
MM/sv:11 (15.1%)
SV/mm:10 (13.7%)
other (please explain your spec by posting a short message in this thread):1 (1.4%)
Total:73

BM = beast mastery
MM = marksman
SV = survival
Please chose the option which fits your spec the closest.
If you e.g. have a spec like 5/20/36, please chose SV/mm; whilst 0/50/11 wants to chose MM/sv; ...

My name is Mulgrin, and I'm a SV/mm specced hunter, what is your game?

My hunter has been BM/MM (41/20) since level 10 and that was my main spec. Just yesterday though, I decided to try a PvP MM/Surv spec (26/35).

BM/MM is definitely my game. :)

Dedicated Marksmen from 1-70, with a few respecces for exploration, then decided to see how BM fairs in PvP. With a horribly messy build I looked around for a good one until I found the the 41/20 BM/MM build and saw the light.

My Hunter is also BM/MM since the day of his creation lol. I just enjoy having the pet around and I generally love the gameplay that is involved.

EDIT: My spec will end up being 41/20

Converted BM. Now I run a 41/20 MM/sv build for more personal damage and still be able to trap real well.

I decided Scattershot would be more in line with the need for me as I hate when I am in a BG and I go to use intimidate and it says, you have no pet, then I whistle to get my baby back so she can do damage and it says... Your pet is dead. DAMNIT! Why can't they leave my pet alone! lol.

Now I have more utility in BGs and I do better in instances due to being able to scatter a mob when it breaks early from my trap, also have an extra interupt spell.

Sv/MM, 0/20/41

because my guild still runs kara weekly and isnt much further, i have some trapping improvements to help out.
Also, i took MT over IaotH because of shooting cycle macro's and i'm really liking it so far.

Pretty much BM/mm. 41/17/3

Not great at pvp but I pump out some serious damage in raids.

MM from 1-70 for over TWO years... darned casual players...

Gonna respec for PvP though. I'll try Aethien's build for starters and go from there.

SV/mm since hitting 70. BM/mm up to there, and MM pre BC.

I copied my BG build off the Alla list.
Gyfhunter 7/45/9
I like it, solo is semi-tough because the pet can't hold enough aggro with growl. I just try to lay off the DPS for a sec, but it's literally a threat tight rope walk.

Nothing fancy, but I like it.

42/5/14

After playing around with a few different builds. I've come to like this one best. My dps is still decent and the extra time on traps from SV has been a lifesaver.

SV/MM

I took it upon myself to be the CC Comander (what I call my spec), but once I replace all my crit gems with agi I am going to spec SV raid spec.

Was BM from 10-56 (all you people who were BM from level 1... I'm jealous ;P), switched to MM with a side of roast beast, until 70. Once I started running Kara, I went BM, and will never go back to MM... Might go SV/MM, but never MM.

Off-hand I can't remember the points in each of the specs for my hunter. Though I'm mostly just BM with a few in SV and MM. I haven't tried any of the other specs but one of my lvl 70 friends (also a Guild Leader up until recently) was MM spec'd. He asked me how well I liked BM and I gave him my opinion. He switched to BM and has found to like it better than MM and SV. Really I think it depends on a person's play style.

I roll with the 7/45/9 spec as well.

I hate, yes HATE respeccing so IMO this build works for solo, instances and raids.

I'm the cookie cutter BM/MM build for right now, but I'll respec to SV/MM when I get some agi gear. Will be a while since I'm PLing a drood on my friends server (since his guild actually raids) but for now that's where I'm at.
