Stolen Honor?Follow

I was doing Bg's for a few hours and farmed 4,200 honor. I went to bed and woke up the next morning to only find that the "real" total to be 2,756! Is there a ratio or percentage they take? I know they take some honor from you but almost 1,500 honor is crazy! Does anyone know?

I too have lost about 500 honor since last night,
not a good start since it's my first time pvp'ing.

I contacted a GM and he told me that the Honor system is working correct and that it is only an estimate. So pretty much i lost 1,700 honor in the past to days b/c it was an "estimate" lol

What time were you playing? From what I have read, there is an hour or two between when honor stops counting for that day, and when the rollover actually occurs, so that any honor gained in between these times may reflect on your estimate, but won't be rewarded until the FOLLOWING day.

Might that be what has happened in your case?

The estimate doesn't account for diminishing returns, which are calculated overnight.

Suppose your in the midst of a group, and they kill a huntard. You get 100% of your honor for that. Say someone kills him again. 90%. Again. 80%. After you get ten honor kills on one target (you don't even need to kill him, just be near someone who does) that person won't be worth anything to you - but the estimate will still be showing big numbers.

So if you wind up in a bunch of slow turtle games with a high number of HK's, your actual honor is going to be drastically different from your estimate.

I've heard of people losing over a thousand honor overnight - but that was for someone who farmed 22K+ on a saturday of AV weekend. Loosing one thousand of four thousand points sounds fishy to me.

there is also the daily PvP quest bug. which i have confirmed myself.

at lvl 70, when you turn in you get like 411 or so honor. but if you zone at all. it will give you yet another 411 honor but it will not actually roll over.
so if you do daily pvp quests and still pvp after. be sure to subtract 400 honor in your head so your not suprised the next day.

i also have heard that if you PvP close to roll over times it wont count it correctly. however, by the next roll over it will fix its self.
this i havent actually had the opertunity or mind to keep track of so i have no idea how correct that is.

Also, if you did the daily quest, the honor received from turning in the quest is incorrectly added to your estimated honor twice (once as soon as you turn it it, and again a few minutes later.) This means that (as a level 70,) you will always have an extra 419 estimated honor when you complete the quest that you did not earn.

Also, the estimate does not take into account diminishing returns from killing the same player repeatedly. If the estimate is 20 honor per kill for a player and you kill them 5 times, the estimate is 100 honor. However, to avoid kill trading, the game reduces the amount rewarded from repeat kills and this accurate amount is used at the end of the day in rewarding honor.

Therefore, you're not really losing honor, but just not being given an accurate representation of what you've earned until the next day.

What was said about the couple hours before the rollover is also true, you receive that honor on the following day.

This is true, it has happen to me before, no harm no foul other than in waiting one extra day.

No, not stolen.
they included it in the patch that made you get more honor for capping towers.
basically every time you kill someone of your level you get an estimated ~20 honor. each time after that you kill them, it diminishes by 10% while still giving you the estimated ~20 honor.

I lost just over 1.5k honor three nights ago. I had 3,555 when I logged and I had 1,983 when I got on the next day...Which makes no sense at all seeing as I had more EoTS wins than 1,983 honor would give. 188x14=2632 honor. WTF?

Oh, and the wins were cause I was in a chicken **** pre-made that wouldn't go up against anything but PUG groups.

All of the above are criteria that effect the estimated honor, BUT the real problem is when you change area's the total honor gets screwed up, it's an bug that blizzard knows it exists, but they are to lazy to solve it i guess

yes, yes, lol at the poor ******* who didn't read the forums before making a rogue. If I had, I wouldn't be a NElf and I probably wouldn't be a rogue either...maybe a warrior.

Dunno the exact number of honor they take.. But liek someone else said its just an estimation of what you get.

If you leave bg' early all that bonus honor you thought you got, you really didnt..

From from what ive been seeing over the past few months of BG'ing is I lose aproximitly 100-120 honor per 1000 i have..

If i finish the day with 4000.. i usually end up with around 3500-3600..

Just suck it up and learn to always over shoot the needed honor.
