Stats/Gear to prepair for KaraFollow

Posting this for my warlock boyfriend.

What gear should be seeked out to ready a fresh 70 for Kara and what stats are important and where should they be sitting at (spell damage, crit, etc)?

So far I know of the basic epic tailored set as a need to get.

A simular thread in priest forum really helped me know what gear to go seek out for my healer but didn't see one here.

Thanks for time!

The crafted set is nice to have, but you can do it with the oblivion set also (for affliction).

Ive always played as affliction, but with lower gear demo guys seem to do alright as long as their felg is out. With greens/blues the destro guys seem to really lack in damage and go OOM on bosses real quick.

Check out wow-loot to see what you can start working for on regular 5-mans.

Pretty much everyone is (Or should be) telling you Hit > Spell damage > crit.

Im at 960 spell damage and ~100 hit and have a noticable miss rate on bosses but nothing on trash.

Also, try doing some pvp to get the spell blade. Thatll and major spell power will give you a nice jump in spell damage.

From what I've read:

As much +spell hit as you can get
around 600 +Spell Dam unbuffed
around 8K unbuffed HP and Mana
Some crit if you can

I went into Kara like that and did well, so it seems to be a good starting point for an Affliction 'lock.

QFT

And you really should be starting off as Affliction. Demo is not bad for starting Kara either but affliction is the least gear dependent of the 3 trees. If you have less than 100 hit you should take 3-4 points in Suppression too to help with your damage on bosses.

The tailored epics are amazing for starting to raid. Especially the Spellstrike set. It has almost no stats but socketed has over 100 +damage, 50 hit rating and 50 crit rating. Better than most epics and almost (but not quite) point for point as good as T4. FSW is ok. Great +damage but that's it.

There are also lots of nice rep rewards, Scryer's Bloodgem being one of the best trinkets available til T5 content (imo). Lastly, Don't forget badge rewards. Awesome cloak, belt, legs and hands are available relatively easily.
