Pallys...IMHO only good for healbotting. i also think that in the end game they are better healers than priests just because of sheer survivability. survivability like plate armor and bubbles. they also have a great talent tree. am i wrong, because me and my bufy from work have been debating about it. thanks in advace.

For the most part I agree. However, you do need 1 priest in a raid for fort. They also have circle of cheese and lawlwell, so they're not too bad.

Pally = best AOE tank ever!

Moreover, the lack of any instant cast HoT or area heal leaves us in trouble when multiple party or raid members are consistently taking damage. Pallies are probably the best single target healers and the most mana efficient healers, but they do have drawbacks. This is rather apparent in Auchenai Crypts against Shirrak the Dead Watcher who has an AOE debuff that increase your cast time and stacks multiple times. Try chain casting 3 sec FoL's and you will quickly curse not having HoT's.

Basically. Pallys are exceptional single target healers due to high crit and illumination talent but pally drawbacks become glaringly obvious in fights where an entire group is being hit for 5-6k dmg. Then you need a priest or shammy to AoE heal the group because if a pally is attempting it he will only be able to keep himself and one or maybe two others alive at best.

It's funny you mention this. I ran that instance for the first time yesterday (I'm a lvl 67 Holy Pally), and.....oh man. I never felt so useless in a group. We wiped a few times, and then gave up.

Of course, that is the first time I've really had any issues, so I wouldn't make any generalizations on it.

You need 2+ priests in kara for shackle, unless you got a hunter.
