Is there any reason I have to stay...Follow

I am a Blood Elf, Mage (lvl 17)

Is there any reason I have to stay in the starting location/continent for Blood Elf's? I don't like the area and the only major city Ive come across (Silvermoon), I don't care for either. Granted, I've only made it down through a couple of territories, but i would rather grind somewhere else.

I had a warrior that I was playing and he started over near Thunderbluff. I like that area. I don't like being on the Eastern Continent. Does it matter if i go back to the Western continent to continue grinding? If i go back over there, will i be missing out on important things i need? Will there be any repercussions?

You can go to any zone you want, as long as you're at a level that can do anything there.

The only class with any restrictions is the BE Paladin. They only have one city with trainers in it.. At least you'll have a choice on where to go.

Orgimmar has a pally trainer in Thrall's room.

Not only can you move, I'd recommend it. At low levels, doing green quests is a very fast way to level. I usually bop around between two areas (Silverpine/Ghostlands, for example, because I Do! Not! Like! the Barrens! but pick any ones you like) so I'm always working in the green. Be thankful you're Horde - much easier mobility. The run across the Wetlands at level 7 is not as fun.

It's also never too early to think about what you want to ride. I always bring my Alliance characters over to Elwynn Forest right away so I can start with the human starting quests and level up in their areas to get exalted by 40 and get a horse. As a blood elf, you may want to give serious thought to whether you want to ride the chicken and factor that into where you quest.

The Undercity has a pally trainer in the Royal Quarter.

The only bad thing about going away from where you are now is that you'll miss some important Paladin quests in The Ghostlands and Silvermoon unless you go back every now and then. But sence your not a Paladin you have absolutely nothing to worry about!

You're forced to leave anyway. Beyond Ghostland is Eastern Plague Lands.

If you haven't completed the Deatholme group quests, stay and do those. Otherwise go quest wherever.

My frost mage quested from level 5+ in the UC areas. I want to get her an undead mount when she's level 40, and I figured I might as well get a good start.

But I did go back to Ghostlands long enough to finish the Deatholme quests. That staff is too cool to pass up.

Go wherever the urge takes you. The only thing you are missing out on is the Rep in the Ghostlands Village (Tranquillen?). It has some nice stuff depending on Classes / Professions. The rewards may influence your decision.
