Beast Lord's Two Piece BonusFollow

I was just wondering something about the Beast Lord's gear. Two of any of the pieces gives a reduction in trap cooldown by four seconds. Will this be negated by the Survival spec's 3/3 Resourcefulness, which reduces trap cooldown by 6 seconds? Or will it amount to a total of 10 seconds taken off original trap cooldown?

Yes, it stacks. Which is fairly insane. If you have both the talent and the set bonus, you'd have to be a complete ****** not to be able to chaintrap something. Hell, with the talent and set bonus, you could actually be able to keep two mobs trapped at a time if you have Scattershot and so on to help you out.

That is awesome, I'm going to try my hardest to pick up the shoulders (I have the pants and the gloves, head and body would be a significant downgrade).

I hope to God Blizzard never changes this.

Good luck getting those shoulders--I am 999/1000 exalted with Cenarion Expedition and never saw them drop. Of course, I never saw a Sonic Spear either, so I might incredibly unlucky.

If the drop is that bad it may be a while before I ever see them myself. I hope I do get them soon though. Ten second reduction to trap cooldown just seems like it can't be beat.

I still have my shoulders and legs even though I've since upgraded both of them. I carry them around for those times when I'm called on to do a little extra trapping. With talents and the 2 pc set bonus, I have a 6 second overlap between trap cooldown and active trap expiration. I'm still teaching guildies that when we're in a multi-mob scenario where I've been asked to trap, they do well to leave my mob last in the kill order. I've lost track of the number of times I've seen our tank go running for my mob when he sees it break out of the trap only to wind up in another trap a second or two later...a trap that had been sitting there waiting for several seconds. It's beautiful.

The only thing to remember if you want to become a double trapping fiend is that our traps can still be resisted. In that case, you're in serious trouble if you catch the resist at a bad time in the cooldown cycle. Try and have contingencies and avoid assuming that just because your trap was down and your mob is pathing through it that you can ignore it. In things like Heroics/Kara, that kind of thing will end you in an awful hurry.

thats where deterrence comes it.
As Sv i have 22% unbuffed dodge and 5% parry.
Add deterrence an you are at 77% avoidance +5% standard chance to miss + scorpid sting = 87% avoidance.
And any buff like MotW or BoK is going to increase that avoidance.

though i'll admit that 10 seconds might not always be enough but you'll have to do some kiting then.

ugh. I was trying for a while to get two pieces. I got my Shoulders on my very first run through SV, but never saw my pants. I've also never seen any of the other pieces drop. I'm not exalted with any of those factions, so I can't say that I've done them as much as other people... But I had a MUCH MUCH MUCH easier time getting my T4 set, than I had just trying to get the dungeon 3 set.

So is anyone else as pissed off as I am about how the set bonuses for dungeon 3 are freaking SWEET, but the set bonuses for Tier for uh... really blow?

It is a bit odd. Although you and I seem to share the same luck, just directly opposite. I have 3 pieces of Beast Lord (Shoulders, Helm, Legs) and have won exactly zero pieces of T4, despite being Exalted with the Violet Eye and despite a few clears of Gruul's Lair. One of which saw Gruul drop 2x ranged T4 tokens, and Friday's clear where HK dropped the ranged token.

Ah, well. I've got better, or at least a respectable sidegrade, in every slot. It looks to me like having my T4 set will just be a point of pride, and there are a lot of younger Hunters who could actually use the items as decent upgrades.

That is exactly it.

Going from my Pre-Kara blues, to my T4 epics, my AP dropped like a rock, but I justified it with the hit and crit increase as well as the Sta and Int boosts. There are still a few pieces (such as the shoulders from Opera) that I would take and wear for raids, and wear the T4 shoulders for everything else for the status symbol.

I cant really care less about T4, i'll just go with the best epics i can get for a slot and let other people get the T4 they need.
That that will mean that i probably wont ever even have 2 pieces of t4 doesnt matter to me...
i'll go for T5 ;P
